Dom talked about reignover / svenskeren instantly talking to him about pantheon jungle. Would players in NA still willingly theorycraft / ask others for advice in this day in age, when they're opposite teams? I feel like it was more informal / friendly back then, and in today's era, it's a more business, "us vs you" type of cutthroaty, especially since it's developed into a genuine esport with sponsors, brands, etc. I could be entirely wrong. I don't know how much gentlemanness(?) there is, I don't see how pro players dm or such. I just don't know if it's changed since Dom's days, and that might be what kinda hurts inter-region growth. Also wanted Dom to explain his top 3 more in depth. Heard LS's side but I was curious why dom ranked those 3 in that order

I think there is a really interesting discussion here about the ability for stats to inform gameplay, I would like to point that a lot of the "problems" with stats aren't actually problems with stats, but more our understanding and use of them and what kind of decisions they should actually effect. To me the big problem is specifically when stats are used to say one player is better than the other. There are definitely some stats that would be correlated with being the better player, but a lot of times stats are much more cirumstantial Ex: If I play nasus top, who notably has a weak early game, and have a cs deficit then come back later with a cs lead and hella stacks later in the game. The cs at 10 minute stat for instance, isn't really going to be a great indicator of my performance in comparison to other players (comparing players in general gets super confusing because each player is playing a unique game with unique variables). If you would like to say for instance, that in a specific matchup you should be at x point by y time I think that could make sense, but we are assuming a game in which all of the champs, items, etc. are fixed because a single change can massively swing your possible effectiveness in the game. You would only be able to compare player 1's nasus in this situation to player 2's nasus in the exact same situation with stats alone, and other discrepancy would make the comparison arbitrary. The failure of stats in league of legends is more a symptom of this game being way too complex for stats to tell a black and white story like you might want them to. I think the place for stats in league is probably more with items and builds, I don't think stats are going to be giving you game changing insights though.

1:11:01 DGons question is valid, for me a low elo player that didn’t know building was really really important I’ve made bad builds Bc I just spent my gold in what ever item I can get back at base and it’s hard to just sit on 900 gold and not buy like a blasting wand or a kindle gem if you’re playing a mage or tank respectively. Also macro and micro gets hammered in our minds building doesn’t seem so important. The Morellos Death cap build is commonly messed up Bc a needlessly large rod is quite expensive while the build path for morellos is not so low elo people make that mistake all the time.

I don't know where I saw this but a format I think would work with LEC format in NA would be to make the team in winner's side of grand finals go up one game and play in a best of 7. Example C9 goes in winner's side against TL, who's in losers, and starts the series up 1-0, leaving a max of six games.

Jungle proximity is relevant for one thing, it is relevant to see which areas of the map teams focus on. If top lane has a low jungle proximity it means they leave them on an island and make them play weak side. If mid lane has high jungle proximity it means either they are being camped and asked to carry late game or they are roaming with the jungler to gank a lane a stat that would go great with a stat on roam %age. this would be very useful if combined with some VOD review to narrow down what you are looking at.
