Isolated zinc isn’t good it lowers copper which is needed for estrogen production and most supplements of copper aren’t bioavailable or usable and you get copper toxicity which traps you in deficiency too. I’d you take zinc use foods to get it only!! Pumpkin seeds are best they have the other nutrients to keep it balanced in the body

I've heard that vitamin A can help with progesterone levels also. The theory is that vitamin A is needed for the production of 'protective hormones' like progesterone (also pregnenalone, DHEA, etc.) along with thyroid hormone and cholesterol. Vitamin A also blocks estrogen receptors. Vitamin A triggers the production of the protein ceruloplasmin which binds to free copper so it can be removed from the body or taken to where it's needed. Vitamin A also triggers the production of DHEA which removes unnecessary copper and calcium, etc. from the body. When copper is high in the body, so is estrogen and vice versa. Vitamin A also helps get rid of acne, dandruff, etc. Also, get polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet to a minimum; they block thyroid hormone.

I have trouble staying pregnant due to low progesterone because I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It has been difficult for me emotionally starting over each time. Recently, I have been in a state of giving up on the hope because my fear of another loss. I wish my doctor would have suggested these types of things before recommending progesterone injections. I would have to add that when adding supplements, you should only add one at a time to make sure you know which of the products you're using works. So, maybe add 1 of those and only take that for a month until you add the next. So, lets say the vitex works but the zinc and magnesium doesn't make a difference. You wouldn't know, since you're taking all of them at once. The same goes for side effects. If you get negative side effects, you might not know which one is causing it.

I started taking Angus cactus and noticed my acne reduce and my body fat balance out. I don’t know how to balance out my hormones without taking anything that’s the ultimate goal to have good health by my body doing so as it should on it’s own . Don’t know why hormones get out of balance.

I had VERY low progesterone when I went off of the pill... I think mostly because I gained so much weight and my body wasn't used to producing enough to cover the size I was after I went off. My estrogen levels were high for sure.. I missed my cycle for 4 months then when it finally came I bled for 5 weeks with big thick clots until the point when I finally got to a doctor..(which was hard because all the decent OBGYNs were booked until May and I was having this issue in March).. so I finally found someone to help and she has sense became my new doctor. She prescribed me a natural plant based progesterone to help my body get slow down... it was just continually creating a lining and shedding it... I took progesterone for about a week and had a few side effects:"head ache, fatigue, tummy cramps right after taking it".. and when I went back to the doctors for my ultra sound, I found out I had a fibroid!.. very small but still.. and she told me that my lining was thick so I was looking at a DNC or removal of the fibroid because I had lost so much blood I was anemic... so I decided to stop taking the progesterone so that my body could have a period and then see what happened next.... I had a very normal cycle and it stopped so now we are hopping for the best when my next cycle comes 😩

Omg! You are the best! Thank you for the information. At 41 years old I am estrogen dominant, have one ovary, endometriosis, adendomyosis and thyroid issues. I just started taking zinc, magnesium and as of the past week I’ve been using progesterone. I am already feeling better and my face is looking slimmer. I will look into the magnesium oil. I think I would prefer that over a pill. You knocked my socks off with such an informative video. Keep them coming! Oh and I lost a baby at 12 weeks last January and I think it was because of lack of progesterone. I can’t seem to get any doctors to test my hormones so I am doing my own research and going by how I feel. I also take 112 mg of synthroid and my tsh levels are around 400. They won’t increase my dose so that’s another issue I’m trying to regulate since they won’t listen to me.

The most accurate progesterone/estrogen hormone tests are saliva tests. You can obtain them from doctors referred to as Functional Medical Doctors or Integrative Doctors. If your TSH is at 400 and your current doctor is ignoring you, I would highly suggest you see either a Functional or Integrative doctor and ask for a full thyroid panel (blood tests) which includes Total T3, Free T3, Reverse T3 and the thyroid antibody tests. Ideal TSH is less than 2.

great video, your explanation of progesterone and related processes is easy to understand and consistent with what i've found as well. my wife is going through a lot of the same issues right now with the spotting and short luteal phase and brown blood for several days prior to when her period should be starting. Also, weight gain, lack of sex drive, breast swelling and tendrrness, and migranes. some of these i blame on the birth control, but it's (at least now) obviously systemic. she has been diagnosed with cystic breast tissue and myomas in the uterine lining as well. the doctor started her on the oral contraceptives to see if the hormonal change would affect either of the tissues. initially she was on yasmine, then a switch to yas, to get the estradiol down. my wife started taking the pill, unfortunately out of sync with her natural cycle, and her hormones have been all over the place since then. then i started reading that the synthetic hormones in birth control aren't all that good for you, and i started reading that estradiol has links to cancer. my wife paranoid about cancer. that leads me to reading about natural and bio-identical progesterone, which brought me down this road and watching other youtubers, brought me to your video. thanks for the info on the magnesium and zinc, i'll look more into this. one type of zinc i really like is called opti-zinc, it's very easy to stomach, and for magnesium i like is magnesium L-threonate. i'm excited to share what i found with my wife today and i feel like we now have more tools in our repertoire to help her condition.

I used to have a short luteal phase. 10 weeks into my pregnancy I was told I was having a miscarriage because of the spotting. Thankfully that was not the case! (I had an ultrasound to rule out ectopic pregnancy on thanksgiving and we saw her little heartbeat instead) So I agree that this is a very important topic that more women need to understand. With that being said, I therefore also agree that this isn't something people should mess around with. If anyone suspects they may be progesterone deficient, especially if you are trying to become pregnant, talk to your doctor.

I have two healthy children 16 and 13, it was a long and difficult process, NOT all doctors will point out the easy solution of helping you with low progesterone. I battled with Polycystic ovarian syndrome and first struggled with miscarriages then with infertility. This went on for 10 long years, I had so many treatments and so many losses, after my PCOS was balanced and under control, I had to do my own research about low progesterone and miscarriages. I was told by gynecologist and specialist that miscarriages are selective, probably body discarding a faulty embryo, pregnancy would start fine develop on target then stop growing and regress almost be reabsorbed, this would take weeks, I would walk around knowing I was going to have a miscarriage for weeks, it was incredibly sad, I would take my prenatal not drink coffee and cut stress out and get good sleep, be perfect with nutrition but it always ended in loss. It was not spontaneous, until finally one day my specialist was on vacation and another doctor was covering I asked if it could be progesterone and he said it doesn't hurt to try, we tried progesterone and I was able to carry my daughter to term, if I would not question, I don"t think a doctor would of offered the info to me. Now that I am aware of hormone imbalance I I help my teen daughter maintain regularity and balance with lifestyle and supplements because all the woman in my family have had PCOS that I am aware of for 4 generations and I want my daughter to be educated about it and proactive not reactive.

I have a lot of spotting as well (up to a week before my period and at least a few days after, which leads me to having at least 1 week up to 2 weeks of constant bleeding) and while this is caused by a progesterone deficiency the underlying problem is a progesterone-resistance. My body produces a "normal" amount but the uterus doesn't respond the way it should. My luteal (?) phase isn't minimized, and I don't have other symptoms - kind of. I do have Adenomyosis, a form of Endometriosis, but my progesterone-related problem started years after my Adenomyosis symptoms started. So... maybe progesterone deficiency doesn't cause Endometriosis but the other way around. At least in my case this doesn't make sense.

No! No she shouldn’t. Progesterone is relaxing of muscle tension. Helps deeper sleep. It keeps the uterine lining thin. That’s why menopausal women have to take it to counteract the uterine thickening of estrogen replacement to prevent cancer. Taking minerals is not going to effect your progesterone unless you are a starving skeleton. It might help just a little then. Herbs are not going to increase your progesterone at all. Take Prometrium. It is progesterone that is identical to our own progesterone. It’s not the synthetic stuff that is in birth control pills that has undesired side effects.

Can I take magnesium B6 Zinc during the follicular phase? When do I take it
@SunshineSurfsup1

Great video! I encourage people interested in this subject to get their progesterone levels measured. I had mine measured, it's extremely low! It helped me identify the reason for my estrogen dominance issues (EDI can be caused by low progesterone or xenoestrogens from the environment...chemicals, plastics). I have an organic home to reduce xenoestrogens, but the stress (possibly from affording an organic home :) has likely caused my progesterone to plummet. Stress is a progesterone killer. My naturopath is a genius, I am on a high-grade/food-grade vitamin regimen: Zinc , B and C. Progesterone plays a role in cortisol which functions in the adrenals. This protocol also supports the adrenals. The beauty of wholistic medicine over allopathic medicine is that it can (lovingly) address a multitude of issues in one bang. I'll make a note to loop back. Best of health everyone!

Past that stage now. I blame it on cow's milk (drank gallons as a child, use to get headaches also) and tv dinners in the 70's... & who knows what else! Currently looking for a great natural progesterone type and or these supplements, still watching and researching. Hopefully to help the few day migraine's also. More power to us anyhow! 😎

If you have low progesterone, flax seed (part of the seed cycling thing) is the last thing you want to eat, because it is highly estrogenic. It might help menopausal women though, as they have low estrogen.

My dr thought I could have low progesterone so she put me on the progesterone challenge for 10 days to try induce my period. It didn't work. I had some blood work done and turns out I have low estrogen, not low progesterone. I would love to see a video like this about estrogen! Also, if I'm not getting my period because of low estrogen will taking vitex help? I have some but I haven't been taking it. Would it even help my situation?

I have been tracking since November of 2016, and as of January, my temperature spike (signaling ovulation) no longer accompanies the timing of my other ovulation signs. If cervical fluid and position suggest ovulation on day 13, I may not see a temperature spike until day 22 (and then start my period on day 27). This has made using the Pearly/Lady Comp rather ineffective, since based on the last 4 months' history, its impression is that I don't ovulate until much later than I actually do. Does this signal a progesterone deficiency? One thing that has since improved is my PMS - while it used to be very debilitating (mentally), it is now barely noticeable ://

Great informative video! I have been getting migraines on the week of my period for years. I have not been on the birth control pill since 2012, but I feel I am still recuperating from it. I had a terrible migraine today and they are always accompanied by me throwing up and being forced to stay in bed all day. The migraine is always worse when it is on the left side of my head. I usually get moody and irritated and very light sensitive the day before a migraine starts. I know this sounds gross, but my husband says I emit a weird body odor when I get them that I never have normally. I know you are not a doctor, but you seem very educated on the topic. Do you think I have low progesterone and should I start taking the supplements you started? I can't handle the menstrual migraines anymore. I would love your feedback, thanks. Ps I know people who have gotten pregnant right after taking vitex.

I have little to no progesterone in my body whatsoever ever, which means I haven't been ovulating this whole time! my "periods" can often last anywhere between 40-90 days at a time, but my new doctor has just told me this is not a period but where I have no progesterone my womb lining keeps growing and growing so my body just releases it over that time, where other women's bodies might not release it at all. I have PCOS, so even though many 20 year olds may not ovulate, this is causing me a lot of problems. I'm Glad I've finally found out that this is what has been causing my severe fatigue, brain fog and anxiety, with a whole host of other issues I've been struggling with for the last few years, I'm feeling so much better after finding out this was the root of my problems!

I study holistic medicine and if vitamins upset your stomach they are an inorganic substance that your body cannot break down and use. 95+ percent of vitamins are inorganic but I take zinc everyday as well but I take the garden of life raw zinc brand. Taking Vitex has done wonders for my hormonal cystic acne!
@beverlydawson6236
@beverlydawson6236 6 жыл бұрын
Please PLEASE elaborate, I’m sorry for being demanding, but I have been battling hormonal cystic acne now for 3 years. I always had amazingly clear skin and then after having my second child I started having horrible and painful breakouts. After seeking help from my endocrinologist and gyno they both suggested for me to see a dermatologist since they both felt that it was due to my hormone imbalance, since they were still out of wack. Low and behold dermatologist agreed as well, so I’ve been doing EVERYTHING I have gotten from them as well as what I have found from my own research but still haven’t had much success. Yes, my hormones are still imbalanced, but we are still working on this, it’s difficult because my body likes to react weirdly to certain treatments so we have had to constantly change our approach (I have a history of my body rejecting a lot of medications, foreign objects like IUDs, hernia mesh, ear tubes, and even a dissolvable sinus balloon) it’s aggravating beyond believe which is why I have for the last 10 months to a year have been going about naturally balancing my hormones with vitamins, supplements and changing my diet. Which so far has been showing promising results but still have yet to find something that actually helps my cystic acne, which is so incredibly frustrating because the one thing I always had even while dealing with the changes and horrible side effects of my hormone imbalance at least I still had amazing clear skin... well, until a few years ago when my body decided to take that away as well...🙄😒 So... I’m desperate, and I’m sorry for my life story I just basically word vomited out above... but please share more about this Vitex and how it has helped! I will be forever grateful! ❤️❤️❤️

It would be great if you made a video about WHY, in your opinion, this is happening to you. What changes in your life/diet or whatever made this possible, is it estrogen dominance etc..
@andreajane1111
@andreajane1111 6 жыл бұрын
yes estrogen dominance can result in progesterone levels going down. Also stress can affect your progesterone levels because your adrenal glands secrete the stress hormone cortisol and when this is happening your progesterone is not being made because your adrenal glands also make progesterone. Your body has to decide whether to make cortisol to save your life or make progesterone. Which one would you chose? Reduce stress wherever you can. Eating too much refined sugar can increase estrogen levels and put your balance of estrogen and progesterone off too. I hope that answers your question

I am allergic to progesterone during my menstrual cycles and it puts me in a head fog. I also have problems with migraines during my period and found out that is because of LOW estrogen the same reason as during pregnancy. Very educational about progesterone and the luteal phase! Thanks for being so open about your experiences and what you've learned. ETA: Magnesium was the most MINDBLOWINGLY great supplement for improving my menstrual (and overall) health. It made my luteal phase longer--which meant a longer time between periods (that's a plus), and I stopped having menstrual cramps completely. I credit getting off harmful ibuprofen to the simple magnesium mineral. Love the magnesium oil. I take some orally as well as part of ZMA (which has Zinc, Magnesium, and vitamin b6). The nice thing about ZMA is that it has chelated magnesium AND zinc in a form that doesn't cause nausea. The B6 gives me some pretty wild dreams, which I'm fine with. It means I'm getting a deep sleep. (ZMA is most commonly used by guys as a sports supplement, but it's just a mix of a few common supplements, and there's no reason for women not to take it.)

Take the time to find the dosage that works for you. Right now, I really like a daily skin-spray of magnesium oil (which is magnesium chloride salt solution) and a chelated magnesium that's part of a ZMA supplement I take. I've used magnesium citrate in the past: It's quite effective but calibrating the dose to your own body is important to avoid diarrhea. (It's not dangerous, though!)
