The Flying Crane Qigong, in particular, emphasizes graceful movements that mimic the elegant flight of cranes, renowned symbols of longevity and vitality in Chinese culture.
Animal Qigong practices are very lovely to practice and they engage the creative and child-like part of ourselves, while connecting to the healing energy of nature.
Sometimes Animal Qigong (deer, bear, tiger, snake, leopard, crane, dragon, etc) can seem a 'little out there' or esoteric - but they often have incredible health promoting and healing effects on body, mind, and spirit 🦌
I'm Jeffrey Chand, an acupuncturist, practitioner of Traditional Chinese medicine, and Qigong instructor.
I am incredibly passionate about sharing simple Qigong practices because I have directly witnessed how helpful it can be for a variety of health issues, prevention, emotional/mental health, and even spiritual health.
The style that I try to present is simple but effective, because it is based on several Qigong traditions, clinical experience, physical therapy, traditional and modern medicine, and from working with many people from a variety of backgrounds.
This style can be practiced if you are an absolute beginner and if you already have experience in Qigong or Tai Chi.

Thank you very much ! I discovered your channel on 17 of january 2024 and I have learned the routines. I have to say that I had o big book about qigong back in 2010 and i was not able to understant the exercices, I had another attempt in 2014 . The way you explain is so easy I really needed help this year after a rough time : i have lost my mather, my grandmother, my aunt, a friend and 2 cats in only two years. And in top of it some people find this time to solve old problems in the relationship. Your routines helped me to keep my days easier. Please help me with some routines for protecting my energy because I have to live every day with angry people and others with very bad energy. Thank you!!!

I agree! My neighbours are used to seeing me being strange, practicing Animal Qigong exercises in my yard 🦌 You stop noticing people noticing you after awhile 🙂

As I grew up in the wilderness where my parents raised a wounded raven, I love wildlife. Now I live outside a large East coast city, where I do see wildlife but not in abundance so this exercise brought me back to the country and my mind was soring above the earth on the wind. Thank you! I have had incredible encounters with great blue herons, so my name for this is the "Flying Heron" 🙂 I really enjoyed this one and will use it daily.

Yes, I have not seen cranes in the wild, but I too have had encounters with herons. I think the sweeping, fluid energy of this practice is very much like a heron! Keep up the practice!

Hi Jeffrey, it's been a while since i saw your videos. I like them a lot! I have a question: i am yawning really a lot when doing this and other qigong praticing. About 5 to 10 times per minute throughout the entire excercise. Does that matter or mean anything?
