I agree 100% with Gil about Vince! I don’t think people understand how naturally gifted this man was and he also had very underrated skill. Could post, had a nice enough handle, could shoot the 3 ball (from distance too! Look up his range) and wasn’t a bad passer (check some of his passing with Kidd & RJ in NJ). Also B Jennings has to watch some film about prime/pre-injury Mac & Penny. To even question Mac as a scorer makes me think maybe he was too young (lol hell I was born after 89’ too though) or just not interested in basketball when Mac was in Orlando at his peak! Lol that’s the only way I can excuse that bs he talking about with Mac man lol!

As great as Vince was, scored over 25,000pts, numerous iconic moments, the game winners and all that, one still looks at how supremely skilled he was and can't help but feel that he did not maximize his immense potential in terms of winning. Conversely, the expectations that came with his unreal talent were immense too. People didn't just watch Vince to see him win, people watched in awe and expected him to do something out of the ordinary every night. I expected a great performance from Kobe, TMac, LeBron etc, but with Vince, because of his antecedents, not only did I expect a great game, I expected to see something that would make me jump out of my seat in unbelief. That's a lot of pressure to meet those expectations every night you take the court.

It’s because people like you choose to hate rather than understand and comprehend. What Pierce is saying is you need teammates to win and he isn’t wrong. What this guy was saying is that Melo is pound for pound more skilled than KD which also is not wrong. KD is a 7 footer that really only does one thing really well. That one thing is at an all time great level but it’s simply rise up in the midrange and knock it down. Now obviously he can shoot and rise up in the post but look at the skills. KDs foot work isn’t impressive, his finishing is average, his handle is average but at his size it’s impressive but still just average, he doesn’t have a signature move like a Dirk. He just rises above smaller defenders and knocks it down. He’s like Dirk with a handle.

@@jamesonedwardsii4943whats ironic about Pierce’s statement is, he had the team that lebron pleaded the cavs for. KG and ray allen? Rondo was the icing on the top. So when he says give me lebron teammates, most people look at it as if he already had that. Ray and KG were both franchise players in their primes and got together towards the end of their franchise primes similar to wade and bosh. The reality is Pierce individually is not a better basketball player than lebron which is the main difference. So he was incorrect in two ways. I agree with melo having more arsenals to score and better footwork than kd but you cant take physicals away from a player to make a case. Pound for pound sure, melo could be seen as a better scorer. But the same argument can be made for AI or Steph. Shit, give both of them 6’6 height and they are better than MJ. Is that really the convo we want to have? Something that cant happen?

1:53 Carmelo also has that element of some crazy bully-ball that will wear down the defender terribly. KD with all his height will just shake you and shoot right over, or step right around you which is just discouraging as a defender. With melo, he’s extremely quick, can hit shots just as tough, bully, crush, and destroy with a timely bump and score every time and you could never get a hand up because his shot is so quick. If he misses, he would just football yo a$$ to the basket to get second chance points. And hurt you. Then he could sauce with a max of 4 or 5 dribbles. All of them have averaged 30 or close to it. EFFICIENCY is it 💯 ALOT of players have scored or averaged 30 but MELO was a chucker. He took horrible shots very often. His percentages show that. He would often take 35 shots to end up with 32 points. To me that shows how a better scorer. they all can score, shoot and etc but KD does it EASIER and better than most mentioned.

Nice shout out to Vince Carter around 13:45. I watched him, when he was on Toronto, play on the road against the Bucks late 90s/early 00s and he had well over 30 pts. Although he was better known for his dunking at that time, he was making it rain from three (and scoring in other ways) that night. MJ (and Kobe) had been on record saying they play hard every night to give the fans a show, for the kid who might be seeing them for the first time. Vince Carter's performance that night, more than any other by any basketball player I've seen, in person, lived up to that maxim--fantastic player on an obscure small market team playing another small market team on the road and putting on a show to the rafters even when it seemingly didn't matter much.

Vince did play more for fun, but you can't question a player's will to win. The Raptors management didn't set up their players for success when Vince was playing alongside Tracy. They had two of the most talented players that put up strong numbers, too. The rest of the team wasn't championship level. Arguably, Jordan had the drive and will to win more than any player I have watched play. The man was merciless. There's Jordan, and then there's Mamba mentality.

Truth was a monster...I watched him put terrible teams on his back night in and night out..that's why I can't stand when people actually have the nerve to try and compare someone like Wade to him.... most of these casuals can't speak on Pierce's game, because they weren't watching him like that, if you weren't local then you weren't getting the games...Wade had Shaq, then Lebron, cover of the video games, espn darling, of course all the kiddies are going to side that way

Love how Agent 0 recognize Dirk for all five scoring categories. ❤❤❤❤ even Green from warriors said he better than Rodman from bulls for the all time best defender but when asked about Dirk. He said he couldn’t stop him. One you can’t foul because he loves the free throw. So now you kinda lay back on the aggressiveness because he’s good at selling his shot. Either you do/don’t jump he making you pay. He’s still gonna get his point. Dirk too nice to give his teammates a chance to get their money too. Too nice he doesn’t want max deals. WTF DOES THAT SHIII DAMN. I don’t remember any team or player even coming close to stopping Dirk. Don’t give me that BS about lebron choking that finals year against Dirk. Dirk been giving teams problem since. He just didn’t have a squad that would keep up with others teams.

Whattt?? Debating Paul Pierce an James Harden as complete scorers vs McGrady is Ludacris. Tmac had sooo much more than both of them combined in his scoring arsenal. There is no way you can compare them to Mac

KD has never had a 60pt game in his career… Ever ! So many experts confuse talent with production, what you CAN do isn’t the same as what you HAVE DONE !

Yea it sorta makes sense. But at the end of the day durant is more effecient 49% to 45%. 39% to 35% 3 pointer. But then again melo was literally straight up isolation plays with tougher shots while kd takes more of the "the right shot"

I always go to the playoffs when it comes to scoring. Average, how many times you dropped 40 and 30, efficiency against defenses tailored to stop you, when the stakes are the highest, KD outperforms Melo in all metrics. You can have all the skill in the world but how effective is it when it matters the most

Melo was just an inefficient volume scorer, I don't know why players think he is so great if he is so inconsistent.

@@Kuroganemk2I guess because from the players' perspective if you played with prime Melo 1 on 1, he cooks you and you feel terrible and hopeless throughout because of the physicality, speed and shot making. The experience of defending him back then must've been draining as hell. But when it comes to KD it feels like he is cheating based on his genetics. I guess that might be the line of thinking

I guess that makes sense for them to feel that he is just using his height advantage. @@user-fv3hu9do2z

@@user-fv3hu9do2z Players nowadays say the same shit about KD. Just go look at Jrue Holiday talking to JJ Reddick about defending KD. They hype Melo up because they played against him.
