Genetics makes a difference in how dogs handle stress. Bully dogs are far more resilient than most breeds.

Vanessa said they're 8 weeks old and had been surrendered at 3 weeks old. They've been socialized and raised at the shelter for 5 weeks. Their mom does look so friendly too.

I’m thankful that my dog had none of those issues. He lost his mother when he was five weeks old.

@@shyranhilaw4352 While I had the same with two 5-6 week old kittens I found while clearing up after a job (horses were trying to stomp on them). I later learnt they were feral gypsy cats. 15 years later we remain exceptionaly snuggly and close (and they are HUGE have the thickest most incredible coats with astonishing markings). But it isn't right. No animal should be without its mother for at least 13 weeks ... preferably much much more. Like you I didn't have issues but put that down to being super close / connected to the kittens in a quiet calm home (with my 10 year old son who adored the kitties then and now). But it's brutal and wrong when young animals are taken / loose their mother far too young.

Vanessa looks like she is loving every minute of this. She gets to pamper a bunch of adorable babies and have them all to herself (along with the cameraman), while their mom gets a much deserved break and time to herself. All while helping make they're chances of finding a great home and raising awareness for the shelter system as a whole. I think this may be her version of a near perfect work day!

I have never seen such well-behaved puppies. From the bath to the nail trim. Tails wagging the entire time. I don't think any of them cared for the happy hoodie. This definitely brightened my day ❤❤

So precious. Wish my bully mix had half the confidence of these little guys. She was between six and 8 yrs old when i adopted her. She had a very abusive life before. Now she is my constant companion and a great big couch potato. Love her to pieces. I've had her almost a year and she is still fearful at times.

It'll get better, I promise you. My rescue still occasionally has issues despite having been with me for almost nine years, but those issues have gotten fewer and farther between with every day spent together with her. Keep loving on her, keep showing her how to be confident and never stop aiming at breaking whatever barriers she might face, at her pace of course.

Most likely! The forehead crinkles and head wrinkles remind me of my shar pei mix, but there's nothing else that suggests pei and peis have some strong genes/really distinctive features that make mixes obvious.
