This video gives an overview of the general guidelines to be followed in preparing diets for diabetics. Apart from medication, changes in diet and lifestyle also play a major part in the management of diabetes.
Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional. Please consult a doctor . These are only general guidelines. Avoid methi seeds in pregnancy as it may sometimes induce contractions.
We hope it will be useful to diabetics as well as those who have near ones diagnosed with diabetes.

Just research. Eat low glycemic. Eat low fodmap foods. So insulin.spike and inflammation is controlled. Walk 1 hr. Dont say cant do it. Do 30 mins morn and 30mins evening. Do some yoga. If you taking meds chk blood sugar before and after your main meal. Cut 1 meal out of the day. Slowly lose the weight and your diabetes will go away

Thank you Ma'am for this lovely video which is so comprehensive . You have taken so much pains to explain so many things to be followed by a diabetic . But it is extremely difficult to keep to this path continuously without deviation . Life becomes dry and colourless . At the same time , spiking of sugar is extremely dangerous with long term adverse consequences . It is not easy ....
@GitasKitchen
@GitasKitchen 5 жыл бұрын
I agree Parvati..That is why I always see to it that it remains as close to the normal diet taken by everyone else.As long as one continues to exercise regularly, we can still enjoy small portions of occasional delicacies

@@GitasKitchen Thank you Ma'am for your kind and encouraging words. Sometimes I feel very depressed because you have to watch each mouthful and if you indulge even a little bit sugar spikes. Totally agree with you Gita Amma - we should avoid everything that comes in tetra pack or in a pack. Period. I have read articles that directly correlated obesity to Nitrogen content - and liquid nitrogen is the primary coolant used in all frozen foods - including ice creams, frozen vegetables , pizza bases what not - this is an emerging market in India but best avoided at any cost. Indian food and recipes have been built over the long course of our outstanding culture and it’s evolution - there is so much science in each course of meal that we have it’s just astounding how we were handed this over generations with no price associated. In south India we are not allowed to finish our meal without Majjige / buttermilk or curd - today this is marketed as pro-biotics and important for healthy gut! And the whole world seems to go gaga over curd! Nice vid / keep these coming. Romba Namdri. 🙇🏻‍♂️

The worst thing that can give younger people diabetes is sugary drinks fizzy drinks and too much candies. It's best to be disciplined about taking fizzy sugary drinks, maybe limit to two or three in a week. Then gradually reduce until eventually you don't drink them anymore (except for special occasions). Too much fast food is also bad, it's so easy to buy and it's everywhere. Also if you fear you might get diabetes, try to integrate regular fasting in your life. Fasting has been proven to help reduce all kinds of illness including diabetes. But please check with your doctor first before you try fasting, as your doctor can advise you on this.
