12GB is entirely fine today. You don't understand average gamer if you think otherwise. Most are more than happy to drop a couple settings to get more FPS than spend more to get more VRAM. even 8GB is still fine if you accept the fact you gotta use lower quality textures, or just e-sports or older games which are not that demanding anyways.

@@veilmontTVstill outselling AMD 9 to 1. Plus, the fewer graphics cards they sell, the more silicon they can use to make those $ AI chips. I don't think nVidia cares at thus point. The consumers sure don't seem to care. Otherwise it wouldn't be 9:1 still.

3070 Ti for 1440p still fine. Fine if it was bought on launch, i wouldn't buy it right now. But I still give it 1 more year to do its duty before upgrading.

I think if you have a 3070 or 3060ti, you're still fine.... for 1080p. Not 1440p. Not in AAA games, max settings. I'm biased because I own a 3060ti, but I've only ever played at 1080p, and even at that setting I'm starting to run into issues. 1440p was never gonna work in the longterm, and there absolutely were people warning that 8gb for 1440p was not going to be great beyond 2020.
@skarrerx849310 ай бұрын
I disagree personally, it depends on your expectations. Basic tweaking of games at 1440p and you can still pay med-high settings on a 3060ti excluding starfield (without rt of course). I have one with a ryzen 3600 oc’d and can max out my 165hz monitor for all competitive shooters and can get 60fps on cyberpunk at predominantly high. I think the only situation is when you are playing at 1440 ultra or 4k it’s time to move up

I also play at 1080p 240hz with 5900x and 3070 and 32gb ram. I have a background of ex pro gaming in overwatch and apex. - Nowadays I don’t play as much because I’m getting older and life gets in the way. - I usually get over 60 fps in ray tracing max settings. Obviously not 144 fps which is ideal for single player games for me. In the older games I cap it out to 240 hz but they don’t count as “max settings”.

I'm not aware of any point in time in which the 3070 Ti WAS a good deal. It's barely any stronger than the 3070 and consumes 20% more power. If the power draw doesn't matter, get a 3080. If the performance is "enough," buy a 3070 and an extra game.

I've always really enjoyed content the two of you put out (thank you!) but wish you would consider something a bit more long-form with less of the Windows product key advertising. I can certainly appreciate the need to generate revenue that supports the channel but would love to see you expand with more in-depth videos that let your passion for tech shine through. Sticking around either way since I like to see your take on things, but it feels like you have so much more to offer and we're missing out on that as we fast-forward through advertising that takes up 3/4 of the video. As for the GPU's, obviously this is an older video but 8GB of VRAM is crazy in 2024 unless you're severely budget constrained and gaming at 1080p. To be fair, if we use the Steam hardware survey as a reference, the vast majority of users still are- so I guess there's that. I'd like to believe I'm not in the minority, but I don't think I've had a 1080p monitor at all since 2019.
