I once saw a study that said 12 minutes of yoga a day is enough for benefits. That's how i started my practice. Only committed to 12 minutes, even if the video isn't over.
@feals665810 күн бұрын
I did the same this April and May, 10 minutes every morning for 2 months and I really saw a difference. At the end of May I was able to do a regular Chaturanga and my soles were closer to the ground in downward dog, and it was great to feel the progress.

This!!! I get in 5 to 45 minutes of yoga every morning before work. It is transformative: I got up late a few times, and couldn’t get in my yoga until noon. This disruption threw off my entire day!!! Nooo thank you, I get my butt up and take care of myself.

Does anyone else also struggle with not judging oneself for “only doing 5/10/15 minutes?” I’m mostly good at not, but sometimes that inner critic creeps in and lies to your face, you know? The mental component of keeping consistent can be such a challenge at times! 😅

I love this. Hey my hop step jump to fwd fold jump which eventually be to a tuck handstand …. Is finally me with my hips up over!!! My HANDS have gotten strong enough to hold me. I’ve done tented fingers for 10 min. Or my 1 1/2 hur days Charlie said this before and I took it to heart and instead of cutting something else short. I’m ok with just warming up with a couple rounds of sun salutations to be warm for my day!

I'm on day 630 of consistency. Sometimes that has meant 10 minutes was all that was possible. It's meant yoga on the bed in the dark in a 6 bed dorm in a backpacker. It's meant yoga on planes, trains and on a piece of cardboard in a car park. It's meant yoga at 3am after a night out. No matter what, when, or where it was - It's always been valuable. Thanks for being an inspiration Charlie!

I don’t like sun solitations at all. For me it’s too boring doing the same motions several times and I need other stuff. When I do what I can I start in the bed on my back. Just a few side stretches, than come up to sit, rotate and bend to the sides… then the sitting cat cow or camel. Or the needle is super for me in the mornings

It is important to avoid doing Isometric holds for more than 30 seconds as they can cause repetitive strain injuries while shortening your muscles, that said if you can add slow stretching movement to Yoga poses you could hopefully keep your muscles elongated or long and healthy while avoiding repetitive strain injuries.
@annebennett410123 күн бұрын
Do you follow charlie follows? She practices vinyasa, so there's not much isometric holding, but without following her, you can tell just by watching this video that her practice doesn't focus on holding poses. Sorry. Not trying to pick a fight..just not sure what the point of your comment was I guess
@rohanwilkinson102123 күн бұрын
@@annebennett4101 please don't be alarmed I was unaware of what she was practicing and was addressing a health concern as most old Yoga moves including the old body building Isometric exercises do involve timed holds that can cause repetitive strain injury.
