Holy Yoga! I've been wondering how to get into this pose, I took a class once where it was taught to come down from full bridge onto the forearms. I didn't have the strength/flexibility to do that then, and still don't, but wanted the opening that it brings. This life-changing. Thank you!!!!!

I never knew I can do the forearm on the ground in wheel pose, until this video. Thanks for offering such a great and easy to understand explanations of the poses. I still cannot straighten my legs but now thats the matter of time and practice I think :) Namaste

KINO! I DID IT!!! FINALLY! Before it was essentially me going into this pose and walking backwards as I would keep slipping. I got out my old yoga mat, and wow that made a difference! I felt a good stretch, and wasn't frantically scrambling to maintain the position!!!!

Hi Kino, first of all I wanted to say thank you for all your amazing videos. Your journey as a yogi is very inspiring and your videos very well done. When I try to do the weel, I feel a pinch in my lower/middle back; I have problems putting my weight on top of my wrists and I feel my lower/middle back pinching; I guess it is because my upper back is not flexible enough? I thought I should practice you shoulder stretching videos. Is the upper exercise also approriate or should I avoid trying it? Thank you so much for your help, Ingrid

Hey Kino, hope you get to read this. My vestibular system reacts violently with each ''weird'' positional change of my head, for example Matsyasana or backbends. No probs in headstands,though. As soon as my head moves towards the back, my ears start buzzing,or sometimes I get the sensation of ''ear pop'', and after that comes vertigo. The first few times this happened,it scared the daylight out of me and I came out of it quickly, but as the time goes by and I'm prepared what to expect, I'll stick up with it until it goes away ( it would last about 5-6 loooong seconds). Now, it's not the sensible thing to do- I know that. My body is letting me know that isn't happy with my head going into strange positions- I know that too! However, I don't like the thought of having to give up on the practice of certain asanas and living with a limitation. I'll push through it, that's the way I am. I was just interested what you have to say in a respect, or how would you address the situation. Is there a subtle way to get my inner ear accustomed to my head going to strange places? Have you ever known or heard about other yogis dealing with the same problem? Gratefully, big hug to your tiny, strong and inspiring persona

Hi Kino, I'm currently working actively to open up my upper back as I have hyperlax lower vertebrae and I always tend to dump all the work into my lower back. I am dealing with a lot of stiffness in my shoulder (dislocation several years ago and upper back paralysis several years prior) so I can't actually get my shoulder back by my head like you did at 1:17. Can you suggest any stretch that would help me work on this issue?

Hi kino! I've been working on opening my Thoracic spine a lot and when I do the exercise in your video I feel a lot of discomfort in my left shoulder. It isn't necessarily painful but it feels very uncomfortable and intense, like a lot of pressure. I can sometimes feel this discomfort in downward facing dog but I can minimize it by really focusing on externally rotating my arms and adducting but it's still there. Do you have any advice or thoughts? Thank you!!

Hey I love your videos and your Instagram. I am trying to gain more flexibility in shoulders however when I follow this video I cannot make my elbows touch the floor. Is this normal when you are first starting?

+Yun Chon Poses like this backbend and others that relieve shoulders, neck and upper back tension would be good for you. But start off with the basics and build up over time.

Hi Kino, When I do this exercise I feel a lot of discomfort in my left shoulder, an intense pressure. I can sometimes feel same discomfort in downward facing dog when externally rotating my arms. I do many exercises to open shoulders, but it is still there. Do you have any advice ? Regards!

Edyta SZATAŁOWICZ Check out some of my other videos on basic shoulder openers, that will help you. Next be sure that you're externally rotating the shoulder and keep the elbows in line with the deltoids.

Hi! When I do this I can feel a lot of stretching in my lower back, but still nothing in my upper back. Should I feel the release I feel in my lower back in my upper or will it be a different experience? Thank you!

Molly Shephard Take your chest out over your hands and move your feet further away from your head/elbows. That should help.

Be careful not to feel any compression in your back, but engaging the back muscles is ok

Hi Kino! I am finding that I am not able to roll to the top of my head without moving my lower body and legs. I am assuming this is because I am not yet flexible enough, but what other poses could I do to help train to accomplish this?

Becky C That's very common and is usually a reflection of a lack of flexibility somewhere, either in the hips or the back. Don't push, make the adjustments that you need. And Keep practicing :)

Send the chest over the elbows and move the legs further out.

you will need repetitious upward and down ward warm to get into this pose.camel pose or bridge pose will get you into wheel pose.
