Very informative and honest. I joined the reserve at 19(just turned 20 yesterday) as a fuzzy. I have almost never done any kind of PE growing up. I really recommend this video to everyone joining. She put the basics on how to become promoted in such a way that inspired me to push beyond my limits. It's hard,but simple. And the results really pay off.

Reclass to the signal corps! 25 series S6 life is lit plus being in the IT field will benefit you when you get out the army, making HELLA money on the outside. 1 of the best ways to get rank fast is intelligence/spec ops. Its difficult but it happens. That's part of the private sector. I've been in it for many years. It's not for everyone though.

Points change every month. Once you make 5 it can get tricky getting schools:ALC depending on the MOS.

College on active duty, not as a pvt.in higher ranks it's possible. Unless you go green to gold which requires you going to college for 4 years while in like some kind of reserve unit.

E-3/E4 18 mos tis with wavier 24 without. Their were only two of us that were promoted with wavier myself and a female soldier . We had a pv2 that thought he would make E4 quickly

Getting promotions does no harm, but first you have to get INTO the military.

JROTC helps , I did 4 yrs , I enter the army as E-3 made my e-4 down in the sand box 18 MOS later with a wavier, we had a soldier that thought that every 6months . I would say that would be true for E-1 and E-2 , their is also time in service and a unit would only have so many waviers how's the soldiers performance.

How long has it been since the Marines I would say you would be going in with some type of rank but depending on how long you were out you going to lose definitely some stripes. Nets process should be just about similar how it was when you went through it with the Marines just the branches are different.

Youll need to make SPC , then you need to meet the TIS and TIG then just pass the board , and BLC and have the point to make E-5
