Damn! That was deep. There's so much to unpack here. 1. Whenever I meet a Haitian sister or brother, before we leave each other's presence, one of us will ask the other "E moun ki bò ou yé?" Basically translates to "where are you from," Don't let them be from the same part! 2. My grandmother used to talk to "herself" all the time when I was younger. Only she wasn't talking to herself she was talking to her mother, her father, my grandfather, and all the other ancestors that were part of her life. 3. One time for Dr. Carr giving us the tea on queen mother Carr in the Social Security office. And shame in that clerk for not staying out of grown folk's business. 4.
