10:30 Tehbotol = it straightforward means Bottled Tea, its one of the most famous bottled tea brand in Indonesia. The one you drink has the word "Tawar" on the label, which means "no sugar". Theres another one with different label at 9:40 on the bottom right which is the sweet version. Idk how British people take their tea, but that brand you drink there is pretty thick in flavor. So its quite surprising that you think you barely taste anything. 😅

Jason, I want to give you a few tips and input, namely... (1) Always have small change in your pocket Rp. 1,000 Rp. 2,000 Rp. 5,000 Rp. 10,000 Rp. 20,000... (2) Try to pay for things with your right hand because that is the habit of Indonesian people (3) If you have a language problem, use Google Translate, it will definitely make everything easier for you (like I'm writing now hahaaa (4) Indonesia is predominantly Muslim so there is no consumption of pork, even if it is only in certain areas (5) Save money on everything like giving tips to buskers, that's the benefit of that little money (so that your holiday lasts longer again) (6) And finally, thank you for exploring Indonesia and enjoy your holiday, I hope you feel at home and satisfied...

He is a street musician, not a gang member; he seeks money or tips for each of his songs. We, the locals, usually give him 5,000 or 10,000 rupiahs, or sometimes 2,000, if his singing is good. So, for tourists, giving him 100,000 may seem small, considering the exchange rate. The difference between dollars and rupiahs makes it not an issue whether to give him money or not. Thank you for visiting Indonesia. Typically, Indonesians are always pleased to see foreigners visiting the country, so there's a friendly atmosphere with many Indonesians greeting each other warmly.

Nasi uduk is a savory rice cooked in coconut oil and various spices is a staple food in the capital. This mix of white rice, coconut milk, salt, as well as ground lemongrass, bay leaves, and kaffir or lime leaves has a way of whetting one's appetite from the first bite. The combination gave nasi uduk a fluffy yet firm texture that does not stick. Nasi uduk makes a winning pair with side dishes like fried chicken, sliced omelet, beef floss, and tempeh stir fried with sweet soy sauce. This combination of flavors and textures make nasi uduk a choice meal for breakfast or brunch, as well as lunch or dinner. Like other iconic foods, nasi uduk have a long history. Its origins can be traced to other parts of Indonesia, and even the rest of Southeast Asia.

Jason, why are people in Jakarta so friendly to you, everyone is very friendly because "BULE" people from abroad are very cool in the eyes of most Indonesians. They are like seeing a celebrity "oh, ih wah there's a BULE". While if we as locals when walking, yes just walk as usual, not everyone will greet. Just walk straight, when asking for help from local people such as asking for a location, some are friendly, some are cold. Apart from that, you have to remain vigilant in Jakarta, you feel safe because one of the reasons is because Allah protects you, does not bring you together with unexpected things.

Well, the ice is ok for us, for you guys, maybe a cause of diarrhea, (had friends from hongkong, who definitely had diarrhea every time they eat/drink on street vendors. But they usually all right, after staying here for several days😂) Ok, you just scooped half of sambal (spicy sauce) into your mouth lol. And bro, you just took every foreign street food in one day lol I mean dimsum (Chinese), takoyaki (Japan), crepe (France/Japan), steak and burger (US) in one night lol. Not even one Indonesian street food lol oh ok nasi uduk, silver queen and teh botol count 1 lah. Lot of people in comments already recommend a lot of food hehe, if you still in Indonesia, do try it.

22:46 got me laughing 😂 Thanks for vlogging in Jakarta, been missing the food! anyway you should have tried more traditional street food, I saw bakso malang (soupy fried meatballs), martabak (indonesian thick crepe), ayam penyet (squashed chicken) etc. Cheers from Indonesian living in manchester!

10:45 you bought an unsweetened Teh Botol 😂 "Tawar" means unsweetened.. you should try the Original one. 19:00 I think "Martabak manis" is way more 'indonesian' than crepes... 🤔 23:30 it's alpukat kocok, the letter 'C' in most of indonesian words pronounced like the C in 'Cherry' not 'Coconut' 28:55 If you enjoy his sing, you can tip him. BUT one hundred thousand rupiah is too much.. people usually tip around 2000-10000 rupiah with his singing skills.. but well that doesn't matter, as long as your heart sincere ^^

Jakarta is very large, the Jakarta area is divided into 5. central, north, east, west, south, and you have only explored a small part of the city of Jakarta such as central and southern. you haven't tried exploring the north, east and west regions 😊 Jakarta is the country's capital. Many Indonesians live in Jakarta, so you will meet various types of ethnic groups and different languages. because in Indonesia there are 714 tribes and more than 1100 languages. so if you live for a long time in Indonesia. You will feel the beauty of Indonesia compared to other countries. Have fun and be happy always jason 😊

Menu in the second snack place says "chicken" (and has all the details about what is inside each, the difference was the sauce). Jason : "I think this is pork" 😆 I noticed you usually don't read their menus, even when they are in English. Is it to increase the surprise factor ?

10:30 Tehbotol = it straightforward means Bottled Tea, its one of the most famous bottled tea brand in Indonesia. The one you drink has the word "Tawar" on the label, which means "no sugar". Theres another one with different label at 9:40 on the bottom right which is the sweet version. Idk how British people take their tea, but that brand you drink there is pretty thick in flavor. So its quite surprising that you think you barely taste anything@@Jason-Travel

I like the way you pronounce “Jakarta.” I can sense your efforts when mimicking the local accent most of the time

bottled tea is a type of water, which is prepared with a mixture of tea leaves, in Indonesia it is known as Tea Water, because it is packaged in a bottle so it is called bottled tea. It's an authentic Indonesian drink.
