Drove this car twice now. Ordered one. Really really impressive and very good value for money in comparison to similar spec EVs such as Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model 3, Jag I-Pace etc -- Comes with 7 year warranty (including battery too!) complete peace of mind and it's very nippy - standard (RWD) is 226BHP!

Had my AWD s line for a week now, an absolutely beautiful car, still learning about all the features. It is extremely quiet,comfortable, and handles very well. On the GT S line we get the meridian sound system. Everyone who sees it comments on the 20 inch wheels, they are gorgeous, yes they affect the range a bit, and the tyres will be expensive, but I really like them. You are right the front aspect looks very good, you will certainly notice it when you see one. Thanks for the video, I will watch your full review.

Thanks John, what colour did you go with?
@johndoyle47232 жыл бұрын
@@NobbyOnCars The blue, it is very striking. I also like the red, which is a no cost option, the blue is a premium at extra cost. Hard to decide, I like both, but I do not like the matt silver, and all the problems of keeping it looking good. I got mine before the dealership even got their demonstrator, I did buy blind, no test drive, or even see the car in the flesh. I think this car is a gamechanger, I do not like Teslas, too minimalist with the touch screen, and the quality so far has been of concern. Kia with 7 year warranty and a reputation for quality ticks all the boxes.

EV6 RANGE PROBLEM I’ve had two test drives in the Kia Ev6, it’s great, everything the reviewers say it is. I arranged a longer test drive today as I have never owned an EV and needed first hand experience of range… if it was even close to WLTP figures I was ordering one at end of test. Test car was a 77kwh RWD GT Line S. it had a 98% charge and was showing a 285 mile range ( even at this point I thought the projected range was low, but I so wanted to be proved wrong ) WLTP range is 328 for a fully charged RWD. The outside temp was 12c and throughout the test it mostly rained… the car was in ECO throughout. Heating was on for first 25 miles or so, including heated steering wheel and seats, but I turned heating to setting one and seats and steering wheel cancelled heat output. I did 132 miles on test… 60 motorway, 60 A/B road miles, and about 12 miles urban driving. I used 75% regenerative braking and hardly used the brakes at all, the system was that good. At end of test battery was showing 92 miles range ? This equated to 224 miles off a 98% charge, providing I got the full 92 miles out of the batttery…. At start the car said I had 285 miles ? Interestingly, the car at start and end of test showed 2.9 m/kWh on display. This works out at 77 x 2.9 = 223. 3 miles… an exact measure of what the car was doing. In conclusion, WLTP figures of 328 miles … The car at start said I had a 285 mile range… My actual range at best would have been 224 ? And the car itself verified my figures via its miles per kWh display. I have been in touch with Kia UK but was offered no interest, explanation, or concern…. I was told to go on the EV FORUMS to see what they said. I really like this car and was prepared to stump up over £52k for it today…. If anyone can refute these figures or explain the 100 mile discrepancy in the range I would be appreciative ( I have photos of display at start middle and end of test to corroborate the range I achieved )
@YeZhik52 жыл бұрын
Sorry you had a bad experience. I'd suggest 2 solutions. 1. Watch a few range tests and see how EVs calculate their range. Some guesstimate based on previous usage, some do the math and spit out a number. 2. Really do go and read what other owners say on forums. You'll notice with electric cars that they are about 85 to 90% of their advertised range. As you drive the range might actually increase or remain the same for a portion of the battery %. Because the precious drivers mightve sat still with the heat on, effectively getting 0 km per kw, which lowers the total expected range. So many factors

Great review! .. and to answer your question at 8:20 - that’s rugged lane which is a narrow road that takes you down to the “lower road” towards Lucan. Would actually have been great to see you manoeuvre the EV6 down that road.. particularly if you met some oncoming traffic 😄

It's a great pity the Irish market only gets the vanilla specs RWD. The AWD comes in 320 odd break for the Earth and a whopping 535 for the GT, 3.5secs to 60. Im guessing the price would be a tad more than whats offered here and with very little in the way of ultra fast chargers, youd be out of juice very quick.

What sound system comes with each EV6 model in Ireland? When can we watch part 2? How would you compare this with the ionic 5 and the Enyaq? Personally I think the enyaq list of optional extras is getting ridiculous (hope they are not emulating Audi). Very hard to keep the enyaq below €60k. I love Skoda but €1300 for a heat pump is crazy. It should be standard in any car over €50k.
