Anna Soubry did not get 45% of her constituencies vote, she was voted for by 45% of the 75% that voted so only 34% of her electorate. So a significant minority of her constituents. Those who didn't vote may not have done so because they have no one to represent their views. Interestingly in Broxtowe 78.3%(slightly more than in the general election) voted in the referendum broken down as 45.4% remain to 54.6% leave. She is not representing her constituencies majority view which is leave, she is only representing the remainers based on a third of her constituents votes, democracy in Britain is broken.

This is true of virtually all politicians of whatever political persuasion. You can only count those who voted. Those that didn't for whatever reason are irrelevant to any discussion because we simply don't know what their feelings are. Now if we elected our MPs by some sort of PR system this would, in fact, be more marked, because candidates are drawn from Party approved lists, the downside of which of course would be if this newly formed group called the Change Party did good people like Anna Soubry would get in as a matter of course without anyone directly voting for her.

In one sentence she says that all leavers will have different ideas about what it means to leave and then in the next breath she says that most people in the remain camp accept the leave result and then has the audacity to say if it were the other way round it would not be the same 'because of the nature of those people' WTF - so we all think differently on what Brexit means but when it comes to accepting a result we don't like we all then think the same? The so called leave group consisted of MP`s from various political parties who resigned to for the independent group, who now wish to change their name to Change UK. That means those who voted them into office to represent them are no longer their constituents. The only people they represent are themselves now. However they have no problem taking 80 grand a year, plus expenses of our public money. Their wages should be stopped as the public should not pay for former MP`s who resigned their office to form a separate or independent group which does not represent any of their constituents. They should be prosecuted for fraud for taking public money as MP`s given that they no longer represent anyone bar themselves. I bet that if anyone is stupid enough to vote for any of them that they will not question if their vote is valid. In short they will only respect and recognize democracy when people vote for them and agree with their anti Brexit, anti democracy stance. Maybe Europe should appoint a new Fuhrer for the 4th Reich they are now building there.
