I’m 10 years out without any HRT no night sweats ever. My weights down more now than it has in years. With keto and intermittent fasting I feel amazing I look 15+ years younger I’m 59 this year! But I have lifted weights over the years we’ve owned a gym since 73! I’ve had 6 kids ..

@@cam129i also think some women's adrenal glands produce more testosterone after menopause and thus they feel better. It's not helpful however to those suffering to say I am fine doing non hormonal treatment. It's actually cruel and mean.

Thank you for sharing this. Some women do extremely well without HRT. Could be due to genetics and lifestyle. And some women need it. Our body works on hormones and the sudden loss of it can hurt our bodies. We need to make HRT more accessible and normalized. Not demonized. A lot of physicians still use the 2003 study (flawed study) reasons why not to give women HRT. It has hurt women, their marriages, and their families. Women need options to help them deal with estrogen deficiency and the diseases connected with it. We need to talk more about menopause and support women (men also suffer from hormone/testosterone deficiency). We are living longer and don’t deserve to live in pain, less energy, etc.

Thankyou for being so clear about what happens, it actually makes sense. In the past we were just told it was "the change" and expected to just get on with it, but it's quite a complex thing that is happening to our bodies and now I understand why I am craving doughnuts, chips or crisps despite being a person who enjoys a healthy diet and exercise routine. Also dairy began to make me physically sick and sore and bloated, I gave it up and have felt so much better over the last few years. But belly fat! It is so tough to get rid of 🤔
@oa8420 Жыл бұрын
Thank you Melissa for the great work you do. I disagree with the timing of the discussion re: HRT. I believe we need to do both at the same time - make the lifestyle changes ( exercise, diet, reducing stress etc) and consider HRT simultaenoulsy rather than wait to have the HRT conversation after lifestyle changes. No single activity solves the problem; HRT is not a panacea but it has really helped me. I believe it is best to throw everything at the challenge. There is still a huge stigma around HRT plus society's diktat that women must suffer. It might not be for everyone but let's remove the barriers so those who need it, get access.

I had that happen to me but it was caused by adrenal-cortex fatigue, @Brittany Penney. The 5th doc I went to was a naturopath-the only one who could figure it out. She put me on licorice root and freeze dried bovine adrenal-cortex supplements. I had 3 kids after that. My 7th child, the youngest of those 3, will be 21 soon. --Most of your hormones are made in your adrenal-cortex. The outer part of the adrenals make adrenaline and can cause the extreme stress response where we feel frantic or extremely distress. --I highly recommend a doc like the one in this video who can do a saliva test an find out what’s really going on. Good luck! 🙏🏽

Yes it does. They grow due to estrogen. But some women do still have problems after menopause. You can get them removed. @iss8504 Жыл бұрын
@11:49, Melissa, honestly hrt is no different than thyroid or insulin hormone replacement. The reason why estrogen, progesterone and testosterone for women is controversial is purely political. The menopause symptoms are directly related to loss of hormones. Replace the hormones and things improve. The Dr is correct; you have to change lifestyle and not be insulin resistant as well. But the idea that non estrogen or progesterone herbs will solve a lack of those hormones is magical thinking. It's actually mysoginistic. No man feeling crappy woth low testosterone is told to take prozac and get a therapist but all women are routinely told to do just that. Womrn also need testosterone and yet in the US it is not approved for women so you need $$$$ to get it, out of pocket. They gaslight us and have us out marching for abortion rights, but let's face it, some women have abortions, ALL real women go thru menopause. Thank you for this guest. She knows the truth.
