I wouldn’t be too sure about them leaving op and the baby alone just cause it’s a girl. Once it’s born they may come out of the wood works to get their precious grand baby since op’s ex is a only child so then they will be their 1st grandbaby. They may be sour about not having a boy but that doesn’t mean op is safe yet. I hope for op’s sake they leave op alone but have a feeling that may not happen. If not to be with 1st grandbaby once they made peace with it being a girl then to save face with family and others who knew op & ex were expecting when they start to question them about the baby & how they’re doing. They seem the type to go for some custody to save their reputation of how they abandoned their grandkid cause they were a girl. I’m sure to save face of op leaving their golden boy they made up a whole story of how horrible op was, maybe even make up some lie that they had to kick op out instead of op leaving to escape them. And leaving out how they treated op like the help as a live in maid & chef & soon to be nanny even when sick. If the pattern continued then op likely be caring for the baby all by themselves too. That once op got the baby clean, feed & diaper changed then they’d want the baby to play with or show off to others before handing back to op after bored with the baby, too much work or if they started crying. Ex is a piece of work

@katharineeavan9705
@katharineeavan9705 5 ай бұрын
honestly it's what gets me doubting a lot of them, because this theme of "told I couldn't have children naturally, so of course I have to keep it because what if I can never conceive again?" is far more common than is realistic. Like, it happens, but not THIS frequently. Another one that makes me doubt is when a situation starts off relatively normal and someone just doesn't like their parent/step-parent or ex and then two updates later we're told the 'villain' has been diagnosed with multiple mental health issues, is stalking them, was arrested for attacking someone but released out of the goodness of OP's heart, is now in a mental ward and everyone that supported them is now fawning over OP and no contact with the 'villain'. Again, I'm sure it happens, but the frequency of it on Reddit, particularly when OP isn't necessarily getting the total condemnation towards their villain that they're obviously looking for, is rather difficult to buy into. The best is how frequently BOTH of these situations appear in a story.

She needs to get to the state she wants to raise the kid in (assuming this is the US) before the child is born. Even if they aren’t, they can be problematic too, the sooner she leaves (and more she documents) the better! OP…see a lawyer, and get to your home state ASAP! (Should she intend to do that, that is). I don't know where the OP lives, but in the US it's extremely easy to do a life estate deed where an older person or couple retains a lifetime right to a home, but they go ahead and put the ownership of the home in someone else's name with the named people getting total ownership of the bundle of rights when the original owner die. If you have an in law or whatever that wants you to move in with them in America at least, it's extremely easy for them to go ahead and create a life estate. Such infuriating stories! Lol! Story 1: I'm so glad the wife left. I can only imagine how much worse things would have gotten for her after her daughter was born, especially since there was apparently "disappointment" that she wasn't having a boy. I pity the next woman that winds up with the ex-husband. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Story 2: I HATE tardiness. I have ADHD and am never late but I guess some people try to blame their time issues on that? Maybe having to use the public transportation that she hates so much will teach the (now ex) girlfriend a lesson and she'll actually pay attention to alarm clocks and not speed....at least for the first few weeks after she gets her license back. If her friends think OP is TA then I guess they won't mind giving her a ride to and from work every day.

Story 2: "I'll need you to cop this one & say you were driving" That's NOT the way it works sweetheart. If this is the US each license has its own number & that number is usually on your ticket & on your record. Is she that stupid? Also, I hate public transport but I still used it when going back & forth from campus. In fact the only time I needed a ride was when one of my last classes ended AFTER the last bus. And that class was twice a week so I wouldn't be too much of a burden on my parents or friends that could pick me up. NTA. After Update: The fact that she wouldn't even consider Uber... yea, good on OP for breaking things off with her.

Story number two: OP is absolutely NOT the butthole. When she tried to gaslight him and claimed that he wasn't a decent boyfriend for not agreeing to become her chauffeur, I cringed so bad. Why is he even with such an irresponsible, delusional, entitled person? He needs to break up with her. This is giving me flashbacks to a former friend of mine. Let's call her Kelly. Once she was in a similar predicament because she had fallen so far behind on her car insurance that her licence had been suspended. Apparently after her neighbor declined to let her use her car, she expected me to drive over to her place and then chauffeur her around to all of her errands. Considering she was so broke she couldn't even afford to pay attention, let alone her car insurance, I knew she didn't have errands. She just wanted to go to the local corner store to buy cigarettes and booze. You may be wondering where she had the money for those amenities when she couldn't even pay her bills on time. The answer is she was into hock and often “borrowed” money from other people then turned into a ghost when they demanded repayment. When I called her out, she went to pieces. It turned out I was dead on and she was out of cigarettes. I told her I wasn't going to drive her. She then brazenly said she would drive and, without missing a beat, reached for my keys. I slapped her hand. I put my keys in my pocket and she pulled her hand back like I had cut it off at the wrist. She had a shocked bug-eyed expression on her face. I went off on her stating that she would NEVER drive my car even if her licence wasn't suspended. She immediately devolved into a toddler-like tantrum, stomping her feet, flailing her arms and muttering about “selfish people.” She kept casting side-eyed glances at me while I, in awe, watched a grown woman have a meltdown because she didn't get her way. Then, perhaps, because I wasn't giving her a reaction, she stopped flipping out and snootily asked me what I was looking at. I remember I said, verbatim: “Nothing. Just realizing where your son gets his shitty behavior from.” The look on her face was as if she had been shot. She then ordered me to get out of her house. As I left, I reminded her that her home was in foreclosure because she was too lazy to get off of her flabby butt to get and maintain a job long enough to keep up with the mortgage payments. She then screamed at me to get out and to never call her again. I quipped back that I never had to call her because she would always call first looking for yet another favor she had no intention of ever repaying. I told her she was a lying parasite and would sell own kids up the river to get what she wanted. On the drive home, I got a series of shouty, grammatically incorrect, typo-filled texts and nasty voicemails calling me every name in the book. It was a typical cowardly reaction from her as she always had to have the last word even when she was totally wrong. I have it on very good authority that she threw an even bigger tantrum when I didn't respond.

Story 1 - "If I pushed too hard it would be everyone against me" and? It's already three against one living in this house. At least professional live in maids get paid for their services. Op is just unpaid servant labor. If the rest of the in laws gang up on op for this that means they're not allies and should be treated like the enemy. Also, I "love" the "you could have been nicer/more gentle/more careful in your approach" crowd. They say this but offer nothing to how they would have handled it if this were them in that situation. This marriage was over as far as I'm concerned. It's just really sad op's husband didn't even fight for their child either. I feel sorry for the next gullible woman he tricks into marrying into his toxic family. Story 2 - NTA. This kind of behavior has been enabled by her family and now she's set into this habit. She's too old to be acting like this and expect other people to just enable her. Also, how does she expect anyone to believe op was driving her car when she got those speeding tickets. Has she never heard of traffic cameras? Look look at her thinking she's too good to take the bus, lol. The silent treatment has me like "cool. I'm gonna order some food. You want anything? Nothing? Okay." And other petty things while they're being petulant. I'm pretty sure after this if nothing improves they can just straight up suspend the driving license indefinitely and she'll be bumming rides for the rest of her life if she doesn't end up killing someone on the road first and going to prison.

He cared more about pleasing his mother, instead of doing what is necessary to support his nuclear family. No marriage is sustainable when a third party is involved. Good that OP "nope" out of there when she can. Wishing you the best Story 2: “Well, well, well… if it isn’t the consequences of my own actions” NTA. You are never the a**hole for letting someone live out the consequences of their own actions. I generally have a very sweet mother in law, but there are a few complications here and there. But whenever I feel ganged up on in any way or disrespected-instead of sitting quietly and taking it or being made to do things I am uncomfortable with, I literally get up, grab my stuff and leave for the entire day. Without causing a fuss or problem-I remove myself from the equation and leave my husband alone with it for the day. I get up and drive to a Barnes and Noble and spend hours drinking coffee and reading books/buying them in the most delightful way. It’s pure bliss to me, I love it. I don’t do that enough as it is, so it’s a happy thing when it happens. I’ll call a friend and see if it’s a good time to pop in. I’ll go see my informally adopted grown kids at their houses if they’ll allow it due to schedule and time of day. I don’t mention why. When I come home, mother/father in law look a bit put out and distant. They don’t know how to handle it or what to say. I totally ignore this and act like nothing happened. Husband is both a little annoyed and super careful with me simultaneously 😂. Again, gets no reaction from me. I just dip out and no one really knows how to respond to that so no one does. And then we go on as if nothing happened the next day and it’s a win/win for me 😂. Over time they learned simply to not push me too far anymore because they know exactly what I’ll do. They can’t do anything with me or to me if I am not here 😂. No one has to fight for me or against me if I’m absent. I can’t be made to do something that I’m uncomfortable with if I’m gone. It’s the easiest argument killer ever, and no one can even get more mad at me and make it a bigger issue than it was getting to be. Nothing implodes, nothing gets worse, my boundaries are maintained. OP can do this too if she works on a laptop. Get up and go work somewhere else for the day and do not allow all of the work to be dumped on her daily. Leave. They can’t make you do something if you aren’t there. I’d stay out past supper time if necessary. They can cook their own dam- food. I do that anyway when this happens at my house. I can also go work on my rental properties because I keep frozen food/drinks necessities on site in the fridge so I don’t have to leave. But usually I just go do something fun instead.

S1: I applaud op for knowing her worth and making the right moves towards ending her awful marriage. She had the wherewithal to secure her money so that her husband couldn’t use it to keep her tied to him. Then she moved out and filed for divorce. Now she’s in her own place with a job that allows her to work from home. She also has a sister who is willing to help her. Women need to be very careful when dating and marrying because it could cost you more than you thought it would. Always have a backup plan because crap happens and men know how to hide their red flags. Don’t be that person who thinks that nothing like this could happen to you. Keep working and keep a separate savings account that only you have access to. Think with your heads instead of your hearts.

Story 1: How she managed to put up with this for this long escapes me but good on Op for finally leaving. I hope she lawyers up and get a clean divorce. With how things were going, it was doubtful that the husband would change since everything was in his favor. Last: Had Op gave in to her demands, he would've been putting his own job on the line because I highly doubt she would be mindful of his schedule and get ready more on time. Plus, if Op doesn't speed, she'll probably blame him if she ends up getting in trouble at work for speeding. Breaking up was kinda only the option he had left because it really doesn't sound like she wants to change. She just wants everyone to bend over backwards for her.
