Good Evening Alan. Another varied & of course interesting vlog on the cut... Just shows our very changing weather in Blighty..... It's like two separate day's, one entering the tunnel & one leaving, although you were only in there for a relatively short period of time. As usual it's great to listen to your musings, it's like you're my very own canal tour guide. Absolutely therapeutic. You're definitely a look on the bright side of life person, which is never a bad thing. Keep up the great work Alan. I for one, as I'm sure many of your subscribers do, appreciate the time & effort you put in to producing your video's for our benefit. Looking forward to seeing the next instalment. Stay lucky. Thank You Alan. The number of times I’ve seen videos of boats going through this tunnel, this is the first time I’ve seen two boats pass each other in the tunnel. I didn’t know there was enough room for that. Thank You as always.
@MyNarrowboatVenture3 жыл бұрын
Many thanks for your comment. If there was no room for boats to pass, the tunnel would need to be managed to ensure two boats didn’t meet head on. Where a tunnel is one way alternating, it would be properly managed often with a booking in system. Cheers

I used to live in Worthing on the south coast. There are hills right behind the town and the weather is often completely different on either side of the hills; especially clouds and rain. All through the 80s, our weather forecasts were terrible because they gave us the forecast for the wrong side of the hills. Good idea to use a hood with a cap underneath it. I had a coat with a peaked hood once; an actual stiffened peak like a cap. I miss it. As for snug, I like hoods because they keep the cold wind out of my ears. Oh! That's the nicest bridge underside I've ever seen. :) And I like to imagine stuff too. I haven't been doing enough of that, lately, but I did have to grin at the mental pictures inspired by the boat behind you as you said that. Below its name, it had "K9 Carrying Co." :D Well, this is a first for me: subscribing after just one video. I like your style, Mr. Narrowboat Venture!

Greetings and welcome aboard. Thank you for your great comment and for subscribing to my channel. I hope you will have the chance to look through my back catalogue, I tend to cover cruising, DIY, walks and talks, other water related subjects and include occasional road trips, as many overseas viewers like to see some of the English countryside/villages and whilst not boating, it is popular with many. I also arrange some topics in playlists, especially the longer cruises, to assist the viewer. I hope you enjoy watching my channel, all the best Alan.

I don’t have a boat but when we have hired narrow boats my favourite mooring spots are often those with a nearby railway line, often acting as an early morning alarm clock! Not so good though if the line has a lot of freight on it which doesn’t stop when we are safely tucked up in bed ! 🇬🇧🏍
