I was truly impressed how many people were complimenting me in this car with drive-by thumbs ups and people being excited overall to see a Jaguar. I can tell you that's never happened to me before in a Mercedes-Benz E 350 or BMW 530i.

I had an XK8 for years and that's always happening. People seem to love Jaguar but are not brave enough to buy them. 🤷♂️

I leased my last one , perfect for 100k miles and was sad to hand it back they wouldn't let me buy it off them, so I bought my current new one. Doen 55k miles and perfect. Godo car, rides ike a sofa, and looks' the business. There is a powerful sports mode and tiptronic if you could be arsed .

I miss my 2015 XF in Italian Racing Red. I'm wanting to purchase another XF and rent it out in TURO so I can drive it every once in awhile. After you drive and own a Jaguar you don't want to drive anything else!

Yes, but is it a proper Jag?

I can confirm the trunk of this Jag was full of silverware that was not mine by the time I dropped it back off.

Having owned a few Jaguars including 3 XFs, my strong advice to anyone is avoid the 2.0 ingenium diesel engine. The 3.0d is far better engine (bring a PSA group engine) also almost the same mpg real world. Only thing to watch for is the cam belt on the 3.0d 112k, but change at no more than 100k. The 2.0 ingenium has timing chain and tensioner problems, avoid. You have been warned.

Thanks for sharing! I don't know if they offered the larger diesel engine here in the Canadian market, so going with a gas engine may end up being a better option for us.

@@PRNTestDrive Buy post 2019 if ingenium engine. . As comparison. My current 3.0s diesel 36 mpg. Previous 2.0 (25d twin turbo) 39 mpg Friend has 2.0 d XE, does 38 mpg. So not much in it. Forget 21k service interval. 10k oil max. Lots of 2.0d on ebay uk spares or repair. Affects all JLR, land-rover, range rover etc. Many timing chains stretching.

Also a Jag needs the leaper on the hood.
@PRNTestDrive3 жыл бұрын
I miss hood ornaments. I think you can still get a Mercedes S-Class with one, but the rest have all been removed.
@JayYoutube15 ай бұрын
It looks ridiculous with the design of this car. Does not fit at all. Have to say: Sadly. The hood needs a different shape for the Leaper.

I'm still more impressed with the economy of diesel over electric vehicles. VW ruined diesels for everyone.
@louisjames10623 жыл бұрын
Agreed. But at the same time, vw pioneered the diesel

@@louisjames1062 Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I find it more than coincidental that VW scuttled the diesel market, then came out with their electric car initiative.

I was enjoying the fuel economy on this one, not to mention diesel's a bit cheaper here in Québec for the first time in a while. I didn't go over 7.0L/100km the entire week and I spent a lot of time in-town where my fuel economy usually suffers.

I am afraid Jag has lost its way with its designs. Yes that is an opinion. But... XJ and XF and XE can be just any Kia. They don’t look sexy. Old XJs and type S under Ford control looked beautiful and before. Go back to wire wheels, and wood and leather interior. Make it look old school. These don’t stand out.

I'm hoping to get the chance to feature some of the older Jags. I have a new JLR vehicle booked next month, let's hope my curse with them is lifted finally and my booking isn't cancelled last minute.

I had the 1998 XK8 before and you are right. These cars were so unique in style and interior. Felt very upper class. Now I bought a black XF because it's practically the only one of the new cars that looks at least a bit different.
