Ruth Ann you are the busiest human I know. I so appreciate your tips on everything from food, gardening, preserving and your tips for motivating children. I mean, motivating them so they will eventually choose to do what needs to be done. They see the reason and that things done correctly is always better in the end. Thank you for sharing so much of your busy life so your viewers (me) can keep learning as we go through life.

You have such a beautiful family and such a lovely farm. Your videos bring back so many wonderful memories for me. I just love watching you taking care of your children and your day-to-day life. I grew up in the Los Angeles area until I was 13 and my parents decided that they were going to move to the valley and live on a homestead. We always had a big backyard garden and my parents canned vegetables. I used to sell tomatoes door to door in my neighborhood. This was the early 1970's. But I had no idea that my dad knew how to care for farm animals. It was all new to us 3 kids. He bought 75 baby chicks, a Jersey milk cow, and 3 piglets, later came the ducks, and 2 steers. My mother processed the cream and made butter and it was incredibly delicious. The collecting eggs and 2nd milking of Nosey was my job. And I loved every minute of it. I even had an egg stand my dad made for us so I could sell eggs out in front of our house. I am a new subscriber but have been watching your video's and just love them so much. Thank you.

About 22 years ago my son was a baby (under a year). He was scratching and pulling at his ears. Dr. Ship was our small town doctor and he was in his 70s. I my son to see him. He looked in ear and said he has an ear infection take him home and pour a cap of peroxide in his ears. Surprised I asked, No antibiotic? He said, no! Because he’s little do it a couple times per day. But he said if you get an ear infection leave the peroxide in till it quits bubbling (you can hear it) then drain it out. We swim in a 2 acre pond on the farm that the horses drink from. It totally works too!

@Jamiek485
@Jamiek485 Ай бұрын
@@sallylynn4579 You don’t use it unless the kid is complaining of their ear hurting or little ones will pull at their ears. Doing it “on a regular basis” is undefined. But is likely once a week or daily, and that’s taking it to an extreme. Of course you don’t do that. If a person wants to clean their ears let the water get in them while you shower or bathe and drink lots of water. Our family may have ear aches about twice a year.

When I was a kid in the 50s, my folks didn't have air conditioning in Northwest WI. When it got hot and humid, we would either grab blankets and pillows and sleep with a fan on in the livingroom on the floor, or sometimes even on tthe cool basement floor on a thin mattress. We drank a lot of Kool Aid with lemon added. I like Redbush and Honeybush tea too because it has lots of antioxidants. And it's good cold.

I love watching you and your family! We try not to turn the a/c until the temperatures are 100-105 for 5 consecutive days. (We live in an apartment that receives the afternoon sun, in Las Vegas.) Unfortunately, it's a necessity as we have cats. My mom used a similar remedy when I was young. You can get swimmers' ears even when swimming in a chlorinated pool. I unfortunately got a terrible infection when I went to camp in Florida. It took forever to clear up. So, it's definitely smart to use your mixture as a preventative measure!

Have you ever tried ginger ale poured over bruised basil leaves? I like to make my own ginger syrup and add club soda to make ginger ale.
