I believe that Sam Sulek has been an important influence in my fitness journey. I used to be morbidly obese, almost 100 pounds overweight. When I first saw Sulek, I realized that consistency is key to becoming more fit. From a year ago to now, I've lost sixty pounds, gained muscle, and have much more stamina. I couldn't be more grateful.

I was in charge of over 400 anytime fitness across the country, specifically membership starts and cancelations. During January almost every location makes at least double the regular revenue, up to about 3 times as much, lots of new memberships. As far as usage? Over 80% never use the membership, about 10% comes infrequently, and about 5% actually start coming everyday or every other day. We had to leave around 5% for unaccounted for numbers that could vary into the other categories. Hope that answers your question!
@Zirt_Nerd2 күн бұрын
curious to what your turnover is on memberships on every other months signups.
@bransondavis68572 күн бұрын
@ not sure what you mean by every other months signups, but as a general average there were 5-10 cancelations per month per location. With so many locations being in different styles of markets it could vary quite a bit, but I’d call that an average. The contracts are made to be difficult to get out of so some people just end up paying because they don’t feel like dealing with the cancelation process

Thank you Sam for sharing your knowledge every day! I have been going to the gym for a year now, and before that I was an athlete my whole life. Since I'd been working out for so long, my body didn't look like I was doing much exercise. I decided to work harder, and I got serious about my nutrition. I hate New Year’s resolutions and this is why. If you set a goal and fall off in March, the guilt of not succeeding can weigh you down and make yourself want to quit. Instead, I make goals whenever I feel the need and try to work towards them as much as my life allows and slowly build consistency and habits that way. Life might get in the way, and I might miss a week or two, but I can always get back on track. I’ve been consistent for almost 6 months now, not skipping a week, but if I do, I quickly jump back in the next week when I catch myself. In the past, I’d feel guilty and stop trying until the next year. Lol

I think year on year there's a trade off where last year's resolutioners get pushed into home gyms by this year's new years resolutioners. I think when the crowds get bad some of the people who are already committed just double down. So obviously some people quit, but I think it's a mixture of people quitting, and some people doubling down when the crowds die back in February.

do you include calories burned from cardio in your daily calorie intake calculation? or the cardio is on top of that? thanks
@wvter14842 күн бұрын
Neither - Your body has a basal metabolic rate (BMR) which is just the amount of energy expended existing. Adding cardio ontop of that means you are expending additional energy stores within your body to fuel it. Calorie intake is its own separate amount of energy in the overall scheme of things. Ex. Lets say BMR is 2500 calories burned a day just existing. Now add an additional 300-400 calories burned via cardio and that brings it up to about 2800-2900 calories burned that day. If you’re eating 2000 calories a day your body will burn an additional 800-900 calories of internal energy stores thus fat loss. Hope this helps. This is a very general idea of how deficits works overall
@RikerLovesWorf2 күн бұрын
