I agree with Vance. I find that the apps are just not very effective for me. It's too easy for guys to fixate on very specific requirements, and if you don't match them, they don't bother striking a conversation. I also prefer to become friends (with benefits) with guys I meet. I think sex gets better when you get to know a person that way. I'm fit, 48 yo, Latino and I always get told I don't look my age. Sometimes, I think maybe that's the reason why guys don't really talk to me on apps. Maybe they think I'm using old photos because they can't believe I look the way I look. I think it's easier to meet guys in person in casual environments like the gym, bathhouse, bars or out in the neighborhood because we can casually meet in activities we have in common. Even if they think I'm younger at first, I'm very upfront about my age when they ask. That being said, all the mask-wearing in the past year hasn't been helpful in meeting anyone out and about, and I live in a big city.

Hi Mike, I found that at the beginning of the pandemic guys didn't feel safe to hook up as much. I definitely think it's gotten better, however anxiety over anything in life is a pleasure killer. It's what pretty much all my clients struggle with because it creates a stress response in the body so your ability to relax into sensations is almost impossible with anxiety.
