Bit of a chill video discussing some opinions about switching up your graffiti word. Relax, this isn't some new rules I've dreamed up, simply observations so take them in but ultimately do whatever you like when it comes to your graffiti and your word. That's the whole point

Don't take it da wrong way bro, but u, or u n his crew or even your crew, should do a mad-ass tribute mural in his memory. A closure for yourself, family n friends should be finalized, so he can move onto da next phase of his journal. I think (from personal experience) its time to let him go n set him free!! From the perspective of a UK/London 'viewer' (since the 90s I've always enjoyed seeing graffiti) it's nice to see familiar tags in many places. It's sad to see names disappear and makes old tags all the more special to see ;) I'm not in the scene, I just like seeing it and photographing it, it's always intrigued me. A tag Roxie / Roxz / Roxs was all over north Kent and on towards London around 2012/13 with some others that must have tagged alongside. Haven't seen any new ones in years now, but the old ones are still out there. I remember Dred and KNOWN all up and down tracksides to London as a kid. Never been able to find a pic or solid reference to these tags anywhere online, which is a shame. I watch vids from the era hoping to see those tags in the background but so far no luck. Closest I've come is to somebody else mentioning seeing 'KNOWN' in a comments section online! Then you have tags like OKER which have been going up since the 90s and are still going to this day. Style has changed a lot, and I prefer the old stuff (even though the writer hates his old work). DDS used to smash it back in the 90s and new members I believe still do, just not as prevalent. Good channel btw, keep getting you in my recommendations so I think it's time I subbed!

Tag everywhere, not just your hometown, police make heatmaps. Avoid taking pictutes, especially of yourself standing next to your tags, that's dumb. I know a lot of people that would have got away with shit if it wasn't for a library of incriminating photos on their cameras that they left when getting chased from a train. Also never take your black book out.

Theres still some of my tags from like 2016 when i went buy a different name then i do now. Don't stress it's better to experiment and find a word you're happy with

I think that if you chose a name and you put 3 yers of work in that Is a mistake to change it cause after a few months with your new name you will be like "I think that my old name was way more better than this one" cause you will see your work everyday and you will make the difference between how it was and how is now.....MY opinion

I'm Asek 313 from Detroit, Mi USA. Through social media I've met Asek 126 from Germany, Bunny Asek from Mexico and Asek from Texas and I am cool with them all. I've been writing since 1999 and have been painting longer than the guys I've met. We all have a different style but I think it's awesome that theres other people that write the same name and we all have different stories about how we came about writing that name. I reached out to Asek from the Miami area but he wasn't interested in talking to me.

Main things you should know about choosing a name 1. Don't pick a graffiti legends name 2. Learn your history 3. If you have the same name as another writer from your city try to make your graffiti different (style etc) so people will know that you two are different people

I am a graffiti writer from Norway and a couple of months ago I did a pretty nice tag on a pretty crazy red spot but later that day my partner was seen tagging and the people who saw him called the police, we tried to just walk away and we thought we had a chance of not getting caught, so when my partner was sitting in the train before he left the train station (I was sitting next to him) a police officer came in and asked if he could ask him some questions and he admitted that he did the tag but he said he was alone, I was fucking scared as all hell so I just walked away from the train and got somebody to pick me up, my mom had got phone about the tagging thing and meant that I also had to call myself in to the cops, so I did and now I’m dealing with child welfare and stuff and if I do It one more time it’ll have much bigger consequences so my question is: should I change my name in case the police recognize it used again or should I just keep going same old tag that people will recognize me for??

I write soooo many words. I'll stick with a word for 6 months to 2 years then try something new. I have gone back to previously used words more than once. But I always switch the words up. Fuck the recognition, fuck the repetition. Just write what you want, when you want, how you want.

I based my tags off of mainly aesthetics, but also something personal. I hit up "Chrollo" a lot, and it started with the "dot" but it just threw off the balance and felt generally out of place. I like to use a secondary to keep it fresh, and it's just "Bats". Almost entirely because it's made up of some good looking letters, but also because I fuck with Batman HEAVY.

Started January 2019 , my word is rekzo and I did not like it at all because it is random letters , and means absolutely nothing. As mentioned in the video it started growing on me after bombing the word all arround the city. I got recognition although I didn't aim for that (I'm keeping it as secret as I can) and now I don't feel like changing the word any time soon. The word does not matter , the quality or quantity depending on if you are bombing or doing burners is what will make you love the word

With words man it’s hard too find a good one that wasn’t taken when I started in 98 you write the word you then had too go out then see if there was an old school writer out there from the same city otherwise it could spell trouble eg my old word was getting hot because I religiously smashing trains so I changed it too sink then I found out there was a one school writer that put it Sink CW which is ironic I put up CW nowadays but yeah I had the fuck kicked out of me because of my silly mistake

Yeah when I was younger first starting out I struggled choosing a name cause I didn't like how each looked in the black book eventually I just wanted to hit the streets already. So I just took the letters I liked the most or were the best at and just made a word and just went out and rocked it after a while your own style and flow will come with it you don't just click with a style instantly it comes with time so just go out and rock simple tags with letters you like and it will come. gaius del negro you could do what “someone” or “acroeyak” does and do a quick tag as the first letter and then for a full piece the whole name.Id recommend just tagging world for quick in and outs or restricted space but for an all out piece do world wide.Either way getting up and looking good is where it’s at!
