Slovenian word "beseda" (as "word") means "słowo" in Polish, while Polish word "biesiada" (as literal "beseda" in Polish version) means "meeting with speeches and conversations" in Old Polish or "party with dances and singing" in New Polish. Every "beseda" or "biesiada" has Pan-Slavic sense, because in every meeting or party "words" also are very important :-)

This inscription is in standard Slovene, it is pronounced differently in different dialects, for example besejda,bseda or rejč,rajč.

I never learned Russian in school, but I have had exposure to it over the years (TV and internet) and I understand almost everything he says. When I was a kid I didn't understand much. So you'll get better with time :) Also Slovenian is so similar but also so different from my Bulgarian. I understand Russian better :D

Russian "кружка" (krużka)" it's Polish "kubek", while Slovenian "kozarec" it's Polish "szklanka" :) The only difference is that in Polish "kubek" generally is made from "ceramika" or "plastik" and "ma ucho" (has "ear"), while "szklanka" is made from "szkło" (glass) and generally "jest bez ucha" (is without "ear" :)

В русском так же, Антон просто ошибся. Стеклянный высокий прибор для питья без ручки по-русски - "стакан". "Кружка" - как правило, из керамики и с ручкой. Низкая кружка имеет ещё одно название - "чашка".

Slovenian/Russian and Polish/Bulgarian might be the two most distant Slavic pairs.

I'd say Czech is much further removed from Russian. I don't understand Czech at all, but I can understand Slovenian at a basic level if they speak slowly. Czechs speak as if a drunk American is trying to speak Slavic. Their "western" non-slavic accent makes impossible to understand even related words.

@@clownworld3523 Yea, agree. Sometimes hearing Czech i am not even able to separate one word from another in normal pace speech. Slovenian like 5-10 % of understanding, Czech - 1-5 % (0 to 1 recognizable words in one sentence) . I am russian by the way. To me even some very germanized idioms like Sorbian sound more familiar.
@Robertoslaw.Iksinski

@@clownworld3523 Czech has specific pronunciation the same as any other Slavic languages, but Czech is one of the most purest Slavic languages, because uses even Slavic "počítač" instead of Anglo-American "komputer" or "kompjuter" or "компьютер" in other Slavic languages, which are more creolised :)

@Miroslav Franka V polštině většina těchto půjčených germanismů nebo latinismů má nebo může mít své slovanské synonyma, ale v Polsku vznikl velmi silný snobistický stereotyp, že používání mnohých cizích kreolismů je příznakem "intelektuala". Ačkoliv ve skutečnosti je to jen příznak nedostatečné znalosti svého rodného jazyka, co nemá nic společného s intelektem :)

@@Istoria-Movy well on the other hand it makes the experiment purer because it's real spoken language, not a refined simplified version for a bette understanding by non-native speakers. But the truth is that he used too many filler words which confused the slovenian even more. And I suspect that slovenian guy's Slovenian wasn't a pure refined slovenian.

Скажи «например», всем будет более или менее понятно. Нет, в каждом видео говорит «допустим». Еще жаль, что много слов-паразитов. Как-будто специально для того, чтобы усложнить понимание. Не знаю, как там с другой стороны

Russian speakers should be more careful, since many everyday words are taken from the Turkic peoples of Siberia or the Kazakhs. For example, saraj is a Turkic word, not a Slavic one
