I think it’s a great game mode, might even be my favorite since it’s like a dumbed down version of conquest/clash but expedited by the Siege minions. I like that. Finally. Rat was one of my favorite gods before his rework, he was super weak right before the rework but they could've just given the acorns movement speed. After the rework I maybe played him twice. Now I might look into it a bit more, seems a lot more fun, even though super old grenade launcher Rat was more fun

I see two options for Rata here : 2 ways to play Jungler and 2 ways to play Solo. In Solo you can adapt to your enemies depending if they're going for some Penetration (go for Evergreen then) or for Health shred (Thickbark allowing you to counter Qins and Heartseeker). Where I see a problem is in jungle : i feel like Thistlethorn will be the only one truely useful, not because Critical hit is unusual on Rata, actually it could feel like a fresh idea, but because the Critical hit is applied on Dart, and Dart goes then through enemy gods. If you play with Crits you want to get to melee with your target, not go through. Flurry with Crits would have been a really better choice, allowing to hit multiple targets, giving a shot to deal multiple small crits and yet allowing you to still be at range, allowing you to use Dart to keep up with an escaping target. I would say we need to reverse the effects between Bristle and Thickbark, giving crits to Flurry with the first one and allowing Dart to pierce through enemy gods with the last one, giving you extra prots for each god you go through and giving you a true good escape that can be used 2 times to stack the prots and allow you to stay in fight. Sounds really better and more accurate to me.

I very much welcome our new Rat Support Overlords I dunno why but I find non Warrior or Guardian supports a lot more interesting to play or watch, I'm actually currently still continuing to practice Support Serqet and Ne Zha even if I still suck at them... I do play Rat more than those two though so who knows, maybe if he becomes a viable support I can actually do decent with him. Anyway, just my two gems, Rat Solo will definitely be an option though with the mini Glad Shield on just the T2 (assuming numbers stay that way upon release, including Rat's current stats).

I think with the thickbark acorn they just mean that you get another tick of the flurry, so you go from 24 prot steal to 30.

I love this, the old Rat was one of my favorite gods bc of how much variety you could get from the different acorns, when they change it to where he is now he became so boring and I only played him when I wanted to zoom with a full movement speed build. The new acorns look amazing, one tree makes you an amazing assassin and the other one makes you more tanky, kinda reminded me of Kayn from Legue of Legends and I love him so I'm very excited to come back to Smite for this Rat rework. I don't want to get too excited since I want to wait till they announce it so it's official lol. And honestly it also opens up your team comp since you could be a more tanky jungle with maybe a more damage solo laner or a utility mage support. Or your team could go double tank with you going full DPS.

If you go the healing acorn on Rat you would have at level 5 (since I’m guessing that’s when you have the acorn) You would have: 1039 HP 25 heal from warriors (this one is every 10 seconds) 26 heal from glad shield since you’re building it most of the time (considering it doesn’t get nerfs on the mid season) 31 heal from the acorn So without the warrios you would heal 57 with every ability 57 x 3 is 171, and adding the warriors 196 wich is pretty good sustain for rats medium cooldowns and fast use of his abilities

Take Nike as an example, she has 895 base hp (I’m not taking into consideration the hp that warriors gives) she heals for 22 everytime she hits an ability, so you’d be doubling the heal per ability with Rat, wich makes viable in solo now Great vid Duke!

I'd assume there will be changes to his 2, maybe shredding magic and physical protections. While the 1 could have something like reduced cooldown if you hit an enemy god, or two charges. I cannot wait to see this already, but seeing how we have Ratatoskr in the line now for a rework.... unless they launch both, Loki and Rat's rework at the same time since they are from the same pantheon

i think you get 5 percent no matter how much accorns hit the buff already is that you can much more easily stun and that your scaling on short range on the acorn blast is increased by 66 percent and that alone is solid

I normally play on 80-60 ping depending on how many people are home and what not. The worst ping I’ve ever had was 100 and I quit literally right after the game finished and just watched Netflix while the things we were downloading got done. Healing from abilities? Build that and glad shield. You also have access to lono's. Build oni hunters and spirit robe and you can probably just stick on people and be a nuisance that can't die. Frostbound and just annoy the shit out of enemies. That's basically what emerald acorn rat did back in the day in solo.

Ever play Chaac? Chaac beats Arthur thanks to his passive and built in sustain. Arthur is actually easy to beat in general if your good at solo, you stay in boxing fights you'll lose to his combos. I love watching everyone's reactions to Arthur just like with Jormungandr. Its sad that people STILL don't know what Jorm's passive does and that it can be used against him. Beating Arthur comes down to freezing him in his tower and juking his 1. Stay out of range of the two and focus minion waves and poking Arthur, try to stay ahead in the mana game as most Arthur's tend to spam their abilities early rather than line them up for max potential. Be careful with anhthing that can be crippled like dashes, transformations, or channels as Hamstring can cripple you out of it leaving you open for a 2, 2, 1 combo. Focus on escaping when he starts using his 3, Arthur is gonna want you to get hit by his 3 so he can trigger his passive and heal, on top of doing dps. It may seem like he is leaving himself open, but its like fighting Set in his sandstorm, its not worth how much your gonna lose out on. You don't want to be in a boxing match with Arthur until his mana is about half at least, freeze him in tower and prevent him from escaping for mana if possible unless gou know his tower will fall. Its like fighting Bellona, don't play to her advantages, hit and run, prevent her from getting minions in. Pray your jungle will actually help with stuns instead of trying to blindly auto attack him since Arthur's passive gives him an advantage if his abilitys hits multiple gods. Arthur is a snowballer, let him start rolling and he will be impossible to deal with, play against him and bait out and juke his mana and he is an easy pick or gank from the jungler. Achilles is a perfect god for the examples I made since he can execute Arthur rather than dragging a sustain fight out. Hercules also hurts Arthur since Arthur would have to get within Hercules knockup range to hit with 1, plus Arthur takes a beating from Herc's passive. There are lots of gods that can counter Arthur, healers also piss off Arthur's, if you can somehow get chang'e in solo you'll probably hesr the Arthur's rage around the globe as you dodge, damage, and heal all from 1 ability.

While this is interesting and does open up new possibilities for the rat, I feel like smite is working to make certian characters be more open to doing different roles but at the same time it feels like that makes them overpowered to a degree because they have options that others can't really build into like how assassins usually have higher mobility to get in do damage and get out. For alot of warriors they may have one or the other but rarely do I see both. I'm not the greatest player so I imagine I have more to learn when it comes to this but it kinda concerns me that they are trying to build hybrids yet still have alot of gods that really only do one thing good.
