Brilliant. You are really showing what a capable little synth the Crave is!

Crikey Starsky, that's a lovely trick. You're whole series on the Crave is definitive and essential. Muchas Gracias!

You really show the full potential of this synth. I ordered one after seeing your series on it. Its a simple synth to learn the basics of analog synthesis but still capable of some really nice sounds thanks to the patch points.

well, as much i see tutorials and reviews of this synth, i realise all people say its simple. I've never heard this from moog M32. Its cheap not simple. Both are quit a beasts and not easies at all!!!

Finding these Crave videos really informative and will be getting one as my first foray into synths next week. Any advice on midi keyboards to partner up with the crave?

Hey Hi :-) Well I got the Crave finally for Christmas. A really brilliant synth for the price, and now I'm going through all of your past videos again. One very COOL thing to share, for people like me with the Arturia Microbrute mono synth: I found if I use 1/8 TRS cables going out of the "CV GATE / GATE OUT" from my Arturia Microbrute to the "ENV GATE (IN)" on the Behringer Crave and also going out of the "CV GATE / PITCH OUT" from the Arturia Mircobrute to the "OSC CV (IN)" on the Behringer Crave, I can use the Artura Microbrute keyboard just like a midi keyboard controller to play the Behringher Crave. Note other then USB midi, the Arturia Microbrute only has one midi in port. So it's nice to be able to pair up both devices via 1/8 TRS cables via CV. To also note, there is a one octave difference when playing the same notes at the same time between both synths, regardless of turning down the frequency on the Crave. It may be the voltage involved between both synths? Not sure.. but still pretty awesome! I Hope you have a great New Year, all the best to you an yours !

I think it can be done with X18 (or XR18) mixer or higher. Using an LFO (or any) output from a synth to DAW then using it to control the internal panning. Thus you'll get _any sound_ that is out from a synth (without restrictions) that will be using the same LFO to pan it (when cutoff LFO is the same obviously). But it needs a mixer that is capable to be a multitrack audio interface.

Got one of these on order and it should be with me this week. My first ever physical synth and your videos have really inspired me and reassured me that I’ve made the right decision to invest in a crave. If you had the choice of a 1976 powertran transcendent 2000 or behringer poly d for the same money, which one would you buy?

really love all your patch ideas, been catching up since getting my Crave at beginning of Covid quarantine. got any fresh Covid Crave tricks up your sleeve to share?

First off, thank for making this content. It's killer. I do have a question: are you running VCA/LINE to VC MIX? or are they both acting as outputs to a preamp or mixer?

Yet another stellar video from you Starsky! Huge 👍 Also *I love the intro & outro sounds/pads on this video.* _Is that something you made or a song you composed?_ Regardless, How long is the piece and where can I get it? Would love to download/find that song and okay or on repeat for a few weeks lol. I'm always on the lookout for music with cool chill vibes. *Again, great video!!!* Cheers, -H.B.

Hi, I missed the point at 1:36 why the OSC is audible only on one side. Why? Where comes the paning from in this whole patch?
@StarskyCarr4 жыл бұрын
There are 2 signals being mixed by the LFO. One is the main signal (after the VCA) and the other is from the VCF (before the VCA). The main signal is modulated to a maximum when the LFO is at a maximum.. the VCF output is mixed through the VC mixer out 1 which is at a minimum when the LFO is maximum. So when one signal is loud the other is quiet.
@ariahrendt61664 жыл бұрын
@@StarskyCarr Hey thanks for answering so fast! (y) But I meant where comes the paning from? So when you say there are 2 signals, you mean you have 2 physical cabel goint into DAW recording 2 mono tracks that are paned hard left right?
@StarskyCarr4 жыл бұрын
Yes that’s correct. :)
@TooSlowTube5 жыл бұрын
Does the patch bay allow you to re-route things enough to bypass the filter, and use an external one with the osc/mixer envelope and VCA, or is it hard wired to something else, like the one in the Boog Model D (which has no way to feed directly into the VCA)?
@smacksalad5 жыл бұрын
I wouldnt have had any idea this was possible. So the output on the Crave is stereo, huh? Any more stereo trickery you have up your sleeve would be interesting to hear :)
@smacksalad5 жыл бұрын
Ah, two outputs. Not stereo. Got it :)

Thanx... again, and again and.... I was thinking: would it be difficult for you to open a channel here, with all of your work , playing 24/24, randomly? I would spend my free time on this with pleasure! Like: "cool , i learned something i didn t expect to!" ... as we could watch it as a TV, it would be easier to get lost in new interesting content, that we basically are not aware of! (Sorry, i speak english like... a french people ;) )
