Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.

​@GUnit2214 truthfully speaking, what ships do people TRULY need? Pretty sure in most cases it's an unnecessary want. A feeling a grandness owning a bunch of big old ships when literally owning a small set or say, a starter, fighter, prospector and vulture can get you most gameplay styles. Everything else is just vanity - why do you want bigger ships? More uec? What do you use the UeC for? Even bigger ships? If you want to be a solo player, solo ships are more than enough to play the game.

The easiest way to think of this project, and a way I phrase it to explain to others... it's not a Triple A game. It's the first 5A game. The scope is more ambitious than anything attempted in gaming history.... and they have the team and funds to actually pull it off. But at the end of the day, we have to put Star Citizen in a different weight class of game. This class has one game in it at this time. It's genuinely easier to wrap your head around it when you realize this is a new class of game the likes of which you've never seen before.

BUT, this scam isn't released, and is unplayable! The irony of the verse I live in... If I go out with nothing planned, I can't find anything random to do. But if I go out with something planned, I end up finding random things to do, and never accomplishing any of the plan. SQUIRREL! I end up chasing them for hours. The Vulture is my go to ride. Just in case I find a ship lost in space. Gotta fund my ventures somehow. Joined the verse in 2013 born to salvage. Plus... She thinks my tractor's sexy!

I love the look of DIY repairs. It was actually more work to make it look this way than to just restore the original look. It's also OK for me, to go to the experts for restoring the paintwork from time to time. If only my ships wouldn't explode so often. Sometimes for no obvious reasons, and sometimes because of me being unable to fly properly...

I'm sure you are already aware of this but in the off chance you are not and are anything like me there is an option in the Audio settings called "Ship Computer Verbosity". If you change it from Full to High you'll still get most messages but you won't hear the constant Impact Warnings from when flying close to anything.

What is up with this game the past couple months? So many friends and folks I like watching are finally starting to latch on to it as an actual game. I played 8 hours last night with my uncle, when previously we would just joke about how it was a way to take up space on a hard drive every patch. I feel like Late 2023/2024 are *the* year for this game, finally. It's hitting a point where there's enough to do in game to constitute a real game finally. I ran salvage the other day for 3 hours, helped a guy in ERT's on a turret, and then rescued a guy stranded out at MIC-L1. It felt more gratifying than any MMO I've played since Star Wars Galaxies. I'm excited for a couple years from now, when we finally have bases or player production facilities for goods/cargo shipping.

Because they didn't change the throttle freshold binding.if Your are in mining and salvage mode you need to be able to just speed and the tools. Most professions will use alt and that key I would guess it'll be a thing for the future

@@gwebby87 Isuzu don't know what they're thinking with bindings at the moment. They replaced the r key for flight ready with alt plus r with no warning or mentioned in the tutorial. They moved the radar ping key from something East to reach while flying onto the stand key and made it press and hold rather than instantly accessible. This one is especially annoyed as you can't reemove the press and hold part of the binding even if you revert it back to tab

The verse is in the best state since 3.17.2 - sure, there’s still some bugs, but overall it’s in a highly stable, playable state which has meant I’ve been able to enjoy time playing again for the first time in about 15mths. I’ve been having a great time, I hope CIG keep up this momentum, because the addition of physical cargo and salvage has been fantastic.

This is awesome! Thank you for taking the time (in this series) to show an entirely different side of Star Citizen. So much of what you see online is bout shooting and looting and your series demonstrates an entirely different way of playing in the 'verse. I was an early subscriber to Star Citizen (I still have my Terrapin!) but got fed up with the lack of progress and the instability in-game and have been away for four years. You've convinced me to get back in and start playing again with your videos. I think your video reveals that while Star Citizen has a long way to go, it's becoming sufficiently robust that you can begin to see what it could be once it gets to Beta. I got myself 10 of those full-sized Cambio SRTs and I'm keeping one behind my Mustang's seat at all times. So far I only managed to use it once because I mostly juts blow up for various reasons but, man, it was very freaking satisfying! It's kind of sad, though, when you loose one and didn't even had a chance to use it once - AFAIR they're like 12k each. My favourite episode so far (although I hope you'll encounter more people and had some fun interactions).

just being in game is what i think they got right with SC. So many games require 'end game' to be the objective and then add a grind to get there, meaning that the journey isnt fun. With SC, the journey (where you spend most of your time) is the fun bit and the end is just the final payoff. I love hanging out in SC.

I wish we had a larger hand mining gadget we could use on those, like they’ve done with salvage and tractor beams. If you don’t have a certain amount of storage it will not suck them up. Not sure what that amount is though. If it’s owned you will get a trespassing warning.

I believe the damage you spoke about is a bug from the server. I flew a f8c from microtech to Crusader, had no combat, and most of the armour was gone when I arrived

Mac just gets it, I like his way of playing the game a lot too. Not gonna tell anybody how they "should" play their game, but I am a big believer to the idea that if you try to understand what the dev/designer wanted to achieve, and then you play like that, you will get the most enjoyment. (Mac obviously knows the up-to-date vibe in CIG, CR's concept, and state of the game, very well) And also, this gameplay and attitude, as opposed to a grinder speedrunners or to a "pirate" piss-off-many-people attitudes, who both basically hate all the others and see them just as enemies, this one brings just a joy, without the bitter taste underneath. Or something.. and i am not sure why I picked your comment to say this... i just liked it lol.. sorry!

I enjoy SC a lot, I am currently waiting for not only PYRO but Polaris so I can involve a group to do some PVP PVE bounty hunting and other contracts together so people have a choice to use the ship(s) in the hanger, be a torp loader or turret gunner. Or even use the ship as a base of operations and send different teams out to different tasks.

So the gems at Dunburo might be some sort of bug, but they're not nodes, just shards and a pain to find by yourself on foot. Might be to suggest the residents mine the stuff near the rivers or something.

I think it’s likely that the degraded server is affecting the physics and those gems sat in the box a being flung around somehow. Hopefully once the new 3.22 patch comes along, and the separated replication layer, things will be smoother

Star citizen NEEDS TO SET THE BENCHMARK AS HIGH AS possible and maintain it. if CIG just allow basic Resorce gathering like WOOD and Fibers :3 so we can make a log cabin with basic prim building techniques as well as Pre-Fab-habs like i would love to see players being able to use materials in diffrent shapes or sizes and use tools to cut Raw materials like diffrent types of stone you can quarry maybe that real time alters the landscape as long as you own the land. that land claim can be sold too so if say someone farms and landscapes a palaice with materials it's therer forever untill the owner removes it, so it could create jobs for area designers as gameplay loops like i have high hopes for the social side as the game starts to be a thing for normies too. where they can come in maybe on VR clients and follow the in game world on a diffrent client that allows for a more taylored star citizen game if they can simulate crossplay avatars a VR Bar citizen game would be fun too

They have already released a trailer for the basebuilding and some of the most important aspects. Farming is confirmed as sellable and refinable materials. We don't know if you'll be able to farm building materials tho, since most buildings seem to be pre fab combinations

It seems to be the wear & tear system working over time ... I've pulled out a brand new clean spawned ship. Just fly it up to space station. Not touching anything and just the action of flying ship causes Visual damage aka wear & tear ...

Heya! May I ask what (GPU) video card and settings are you using? I'm playing at 2K res with all on high (besides volumetric clouds that are on low) but the quality of your image is substantially better then what I get. I'm able to get something between 20 (on big cities) and 90 FPS (on space)

I like this kind of playing too, however most of the people in my opinion cannot break this... frame of thinking. They work in real life and launch the game.. just to work in game too :). "I have to earn more", "I need a story line to follow".. I talked with many friends about games [not SC, in general].. and they usually play the game until "there is something to achieve". If they don't have some goal to achieve, they get bored and quit playing. It's great to see someone likes just to wander around without any "mission".

I have a theory about that 300i you couldn’t scrape. Judging from its appearance and the fact you are in Microtech I’d be willing to bet that is the 300i from the 890 jump mission that someone took after finishing that mission. It probably hasn’t had the scrap-able skin added to it yet. Just a thought.

I played through 8 times and then started doing all the quests, base building etc. I was able to reach Unity in 30 minutes or so. My current playthrough is using a nexus mod pack an I'm having a great time!! Oh wait, this is Star Citizen, not Starfield....I'm too lazy to erase this.

I have be having a auec donation event at Area18 for them gold tickets that I got from the first event and made 52 mil now I can get that reclaimer with spare funds to get another big ship to use for salvage thank god that insurance abuse is not in yet. What is the best one to get I think anther recaimer or 890J or hammerhead because of all them guns.

the game sure does have its great moments, i found myself on a whole adventure because i decided to sit in a npc ships pilot seat to self destruct it and kill the npc crew that my mission wanted me to kill and ended up waking up the ships AI and it kidnapped me and dumped me in deep space

Funnily enough never. Yet. Although an npc bounty spawned in above and blew my ship up, but the player who took the mission came along and took that npc out. Stanton will become more safe as more game systems come along, and pyro of course. Most people I meet in the verse are actually friendly, but that’s not to say all aren’t pirates.

@@SuperMacBrother I see, you are lucky then. My experience was not so friendly when i met other players. One time i was trying box missions and got assaulted out of nowhere by a nomad, barely got away in my Cutter Scout at that time. Second time was just leaving A18 in the reclaimer when some bloke in a Inferno thought it was funny to poke me. He didn't kill me and i quickly ran back into the armistice but said he wanted to see how my shields will hold and that it's my fault i am running the ship solo. Like i was empty because i just took off and was heading to pick my crew up. He had nothing to gain just made me waste time for no reason. So yeah I wouldn't call them pirates though, murder hobos i believe was the term or just psychos 🤣. But anyway I've been doing something like you just living off a station and doing mining and salvage from time to time and i rarely had shitty encounters like those mentioned before. Cool stuff i enjoy seeing people playing this like me sorta like casual/roleplay.

How do you sell guns you pull off ships.

Put the guns in your ship's cargo hold, then if you land in a station/city which hosts a ship weapons store (or a general store that buys those items), you can sell them by using this shop terminal and by selecting your ship as the source (like Mac did at 39:42).

I still think gundams/large scale ship sized mechs would be AWESOME in this game! the atmospheric nature of walking around as a human, combind with the ability to fly around eva/mirai furi style with the press of a button, I hope TITAN suits get added soon ;-;

I do get it from time to time. Like you say, since Xmas it’s gotten bad. The 3.22 patch on the eptu will help once it releases. Just having to wait for that unfortunately but it is getting very bad.

I can assure you it is easy (too easy) to make money in this game. I do not focus on the money meta, and instead just enjoy playing the game. Earnings and money making methods will vary as the game further develops. You can make 2mil very quickly
