I am so moved by the both of you. Ali, when you said “I will not accept a peace that will be built on other Jewish graves,” I started to cry. I would never want a peace built on Palestinian graves, either. Thank you both for doing this work and believing that our peoples do not have to perpetuate this cycle of violence forever. Thank you for believing in our collective humanity. Shalom & salaam, may God bless and keep you both.

This is the most nuanced, intelligent and humane conversation on this heartbreaking situation that I’ve, so far, heard. It’s been particularly heartwarming for me to listen to this, coming on the heels of being told in a Facebook Jewish Community Group to which I belong (being Jewish myself), that I am an idiot and should be placed on an antisemitism watchlist, for expressing similar views to the men in this video. I’ve now posted this video to that group

THANK YOU! Amazing, wonderful, inspiring - And how refreshing that the focus isn't on "two states, one state, three states, confederation" etc ... but about the foundation for creating solutions that will give both peoples self-determination and peace. - A few highlights for me: What a beautiful observation by Ali: "The world doesn't like Jews; the Arabs don't like Palestinians - so all we have is each other!" Wow! This reminds me of former Pres. Rivlin's observation that Arabs and Jews in this area are destined - not doomed - to live together. Ami was also very clear about this. One little "criticism" of Ali's understanding of what Jews fear: The world of Jew hatred is/was not limited to the European/Western hatred of Jews - including the Holocaust. Jews have also been persecuted and thrown out of many countries in the Middle East... I love how Ali talked of the importance of Palestinians learning to LOVE themselves - and how he does not assume that religious beliefs about the land require wanting to kick The Others out. And how he refuses to let anyone take away his humanity by pushing him into hatred and violence - no matter what. Finally: If third parties can contribute to solutions and incentives - great. But it is absolute not ok for third parties to pick sides, spread the conflict to their own countries, and expect that pressure is going to help the Israelis and Palestinians to find their peace and self-determination.

*"The Jew of Malta"* is a play written by Christopher Marlowe, believed to have been composed around 1589. The plot revolves around Barabas, a wealthy Jewish merchant living in Malta during the sixteenth century. Here's a brief summary:
@ShahrezadNorMohammadiy91167 ай бұрын
Barabas begins as a prosperous and influential figure, but due to political intrigue and manipulation, he loses his wealth. The governor of Malta confiscates his assets to finance the defense of the island against the Turks. Barabas, seeking revenge, involves himself in various schemes.
@ShahrezadNorMohammadiy91167 ай бұрын
The political climate intensifies, involving conflicts between Malta and the Ottoman Empire. Barabas, ultimately consumed by his own greed and revenge, orchestrates a complex web of betrayal. However, his plans unravel, leading to a tragic and violent conclusion.

These two chaps both describe a process that can provide a lasting solution. 1st stop the violence on both sides. Next, accept reconciliation will take a long time. Stop external meddling. Allow them to find solution that works for them.
@searchingfortruth6196 ай бұрын
Yeeessss! So much of the issue, going back to the beginning, has been external people. There were tensions, but those would have eventually been worked out. But the British made this promise, that promise. Then Syria had this interest, Jordan had that interest, and Saudi has another. The US has this interest, Iran has that interest, Russia has another. And it just keeps stirring the pot. And so much coverage in the media ..... NEEEVER helps.
Having dignity for oneself means extending the branch of peace to the other, rather than oppressing others by aiming one's gun barrel at them, which is an untenable solution because all human being naturally will rebel against oppression, and sooner or later, the tables will turn, so it's best to learn to live in harmony where everyone sits at the same table. 😘

When we steal, we will lose things too. When we fight, wound, maim and kill-we will be maimed, wounded or killed in body and or in spirit. When we start a war, it will be a long and bitter struggle. Everything evil we have endured, we have been the original cause of it. We have the ability to choose the way we wish to think and live. And we choose the way we will think and live by changing our consciousness from antagonism to unconditional love and acceptance of everyone equally. If you imagine the damage and hurt you will like to inflict on another, your thoughts will reach your enemy and will erode their strength according to the intensity of your intention. Do not think that your thoughts has dissolved and is no more. It rests in electromagnetic strength, taking on form until it rebounds to harm you too. You can do much damage with your thinking and feelings. Damage to others and damage to yourself. Therefore, guard them-the tools of creativity-well, and at all times turn to God, and ask for relief from any thoughts which is contrary to unconditional love. According to the power of your prayer and the sincere faith in which you raise your mind to God, your thoughts will be imbued with new life and unconditional love.

I think there's a lot of truth that's said here. Both sides need to deal with their extremists. However, there's a big difference to a country which has an organized military system, backed by the United States, and a country that, out of desperation, literally committed an act of horrible terror in some crazy circumstances. I mean these people literally flew into a party in Israel with self-made crappy helicopters and machine guns... which ironically were probably also supplied by the US.

It's easier to start wars than to end them. It's easier to blame others than to look inward. It's easier to see what is different about someone than to find the things we share. But we should choose the right path, not just the easy path. There's one rule that lies at the heart of every religion -- that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us. This truth transcends nations and peoples -- a belief that isn't new; that isn't black or white or brown; that isn't Christian or Muslim or Jew. It's a belief that pulsed in the cradle of civilization, and that still beats in the hearts of billions around the world. It's a faith in other people, and it's what brought me here today. ---- ---- ---- 🇺🇳 *United Nations* الأمـــــمُ المتّـحــــدَة ✓ ---- ---- ---- …

I can see some sign of Israeli people to hope ending the war against Hamas in Gaza happening now, demonstrating the majority of them wish resignation of Netanyahu and early election. it can be hope even if it doesn’t mean permanent peace between Israel and Gaza,but we still have hope… and to implement permanent peace we have to figure out why Hamas was born and what the West have done to Gaza, Palestinian. We have to fix things right to Gaza, what Britain, US, etc. have done to them. That’s the only way

This conflict all boils down to My guy in the sky is better than your guy in the sky. When mankind can leave religion behind will be the day when peace will blossom
@marshmellow.28866 ай бұрын
I don't think so. The beginning of all this was the mass immigration of European Jews to that land. "Guy in the sky" was put to the picture of now Israel state in order to claim "validity" to that land. To emphasize that, they invite all Jews to live there, promoting "the land of Jews". The fact that Palestinians were shoved aside is merely because they are Arabs, viewed as inferior to western white supremacist. But since that apartheid state use "Jews" as core to their "validity" of that land, naturally "Islam" was viewed as the opposing side, moreover most Arabs are muslims. You notice that Christian Palestinians were not regarded as such "opposing power". They are also victims there, they must want to be free too. But since they are minority, and Jews are somehow seen align with Christianity, all we see for the last 8 decades are Islam vs Jews in this Palestine vs Israel narrative. Only now that Israel attacks on Palestine are on unimaginable level we all search for the truth. Now that information are available for free, no bullsh8t narrative works anymore. So, No, this is not about the guy in the sky.

Almost All what you said is good on theoretical level, only if we aren't talking about a state that uses an occupied land as weapons labs, who doesn't offer birth right to people who are completely disconnected from that land. We are talking about state that went far and beyond in children rights. The whole foundation of this what so called state is not acceptable. Saying so of course it's not acceptable to build a Palestinian nation on the bodies of innocent people. Nor deny anyone's right to have a dignified life. But it's hard really to imagine that the state of Israel will be held back by non violence resistance. In all history, people tried to raise their voice but they couldn't bare a chance against a loby that worked for decades.
