What i normally do : Day 1 ~ 3 : Setup a Coastal Base along the Shore parallel to an Island Day 3 ~ 5 : Build a Boat, Transport Logs to Island Day 5+ : Build on Island. GG, Never have to worry about Cannibals ever again. After I have my Base on Island setup, I choose when to raid them, Not the other way around !!!

What I do when starting a new save: Day 1 minute 1: Build a raft, boat to the yacht, find dinner, sleep in style, always have the initiative on the cannibals from the sea from now on. Day 2-4: Chop logs, build on the island Day 5-whenever: Gather resources and build a network of invulnerable island bases so I can easily go wherever I want by boat.

Best strategy I've found for "Peaceful Building" is to start aggressive. By day 3 I think I killed more then 40 (hunt them at night) and had no effigies (I ate the majority of the body parts and burned the torsos for bones so maybe the AI is programmed for fear?). I made sure to kill every encounter and leave no survivors. Every time I see them now they will keep their distance and force me to hunt them down 1 by 1 lol. I do like your idea though, I plan on using it to make them run through bottlenecks filled with traps.

Honestly that area you were pointing at is the best place to build. I’m on day 140 and they didn’t find me until day 48, then until around day 135 I saw them in my actual base (pretty much the south most part of the cliff above the fertile lands, directly north of the main cannibal village) about 3 times. I just got back from completing the ending and I got cocky, killed a bunch of them in front of each other, and only now are they bugging me quite a bit. But now I have a full base, full strength & athleticism, zip lines to the cliff that goes to the cannibal village and also to the katana cave, a crane that comes up from the ocean “entrance” to the fertile lands, and deadfall traps lining the openings where they can come up the cliff. I used the “taming the cannibals” method up until this point (blocking their attacks and rarely attacking back above the caves, only killing small groups and making sure to burn the bodies, always walking away instead of running) and I bet that helped a lot, too.

I love how I’ve accidentally done this in this exact location since my first play through. It’s worked out so well combined with a raft equipped with everything needed to survive for days At the corner of this lake, there is a point where you can walk across the lake, about 50-60ft, and you won’t go underwater. The path isn’t easily visible, but it’s wide enough to get a log cart across it. I built a small rock wall to guide a path with a small break in it to let rafts through.

Ok, I played my first game exactly like he described (I didn’t know that this video existed) I can attest that it was super peaceful up there! I made an elevator up to the cliff, there are tons of resources at the base. I put storage for logs and sticks in the elevator and a stone wall around the base of the elevator to take them up. I made a stairwell down to the valley on the Left and a stone wall across like Farket did. It’s crazy that this was the technique I used! Before I set up and learned about the island I travelled around extensively making hunting shacks and fire pits. This felt like the right spot

This is what I did in my very first playthrough. I built my main camp on the containers in the west. When I got attacked a LOT I figured I needed refuge. So I built a small camp on the islands there so when my base was swarmed, I could swim over. And when they attacked me too often, like multiple times in one day, I started this : I sprinted around the island along the cliffs. When my stamina was out and I couldn't sprint any longer I built a hunting shelter, a fire and a bench. And then I did the same thing again. So I had a bunch of save points and always some refuge that I rarely visited so the enemies hardly found me. After some days I would come back to my main camp and the cannibals seemed to have forgotten about me, at least for some time. :)

Great research as always. I’ve completely walked off the upper fertile lands, cannibals and mutants have been bugging out on the lower beach, they started either glitching or spawning inside the walls (I’m on day 310 of this play through). Even the worm has bugged, spawning on the lower beach and unable to fly up the cliff. I’ve been testing moving back and forth between areas and they seem less likely to glitch inside my walls. I always build my first base on that plateau to the far east side of the map and rarely have cannibals attacking there, but I will only spend full days there at the beginning of the game when I’m building. I end up building bases in other places mostly out of boredom because the cannibals and mutants don’t seem to attack that far east location much at all. Makes it a good spot for stashing and safety with minimal defences

we built a 5k+ log compound with my friend that is on top of 2 islands right next to each other and we have a long ass bridge that has max. security at main enterance. We gave 2 doors in total at bridge ; main door is a giant protected door and second one is at the other side of it. its just a regular door. We are at day 43 and no attacks yet.

I've got my camp built where you circled, on the hill next to the big useless tree near the yacht. Mutants walk around that cliff often and patrol right outside my walls. The trees are too far away now to sustain my own life, so I might wall off a piece of the beach use it as a dock and transport my logs the way you suggested and just use a crane on the cliff face.

That top cliff face with the small pond and the little patch below it to the East of the lake is the safest place in the game aside from islands or building a lake house on the water. The cliff is also the easiest to build for. You can easily do 100 days of Zero contact. Even the actual attacks they send at you, they don't go the long way round. They sit at the bottom of the cliff and then leave when they can't find you.

I usually build my base on that giant island in the south east. The only disadvantage to that is worms can swim and you need a raft or some way of getting materials over that isn’t small like sticks or stones. Also, by day 7 or so, Armsy’s and Virginia’s spawn really close by to any wood supply and to the west is a massive main camp for the enemies.

In my game, on PS4 I have this whole area with the double plateau, on the far east off the edge of the map, totally isolated and walled off. It is the largest safe zone I have ever created. There are a few places you need to wall off, but you can let them keep the lowest beach all the way around. The tribals can't even use their village.

I actually already made my base by those cliffs he explained. I not only had a zip line to get between the two points he described, but I found a way to climb the cliff side without the use of any structures. Using parkour and such, I’ve only seen Canabals once up too near my base, and they were merely a patrol unit that passed me by. I make almost a daily trip to the main canabal village, and have yet to be attacked at my base.

I dont know if this has been answered in another video of yours but I have watched most and never heard it brought up. With that 45 building "limit" (for lack of a better word) could you go build 45 stick markers or drying racks on the far side of the map then just keep that area 1 building ahead of where your main base is at all times? (Ie. You build main base in fertile lands and you have 62 built things, and then by the anchor you have 64 drying racks or cheaply built things. Will the enemy go attack the anchor as there are more buildings?

by cave 2 is easy to build despite the cannibals showing up early because you can go in the cave for supplies when they show up. useful flares, ciruit boards, watches, bottles, cloth and more. plue all the trees makes it quick to put a base up. cliff at geese lake is also easy. even though there is a patrol, as long as you dont go too far out, they dont see you

The things me and my friends do is we sit on a small island, not a whole lot of defenses, cannibals always come by but they arent hard to kill because we live in the middle of a river and the katana and chainsaw cave are right next to us so we can keep restocking on items so we basically have a system were whenever we get close to finishing our resources we go on a cave run and get all our resources back then we head back to the island and chill, and since the armsys and spider ladys come by, we usually burn them alive and blow them up, and continue as usual, no problems happen, our base has never been destroyed, we have sustaining food sources, we be good.

This game is legit so hard for me because i don't like combat so much or the idea of going down into dangerous caves. So I've only played on creative and peaceful modes, just recently I started a normal play through and its sooooo scary 😅 virgina launched itself into the water once, accidentally planted a temp home right in a hot spot and had to spend the night on top of a beach stand/perch... but literally it does help.... actually it literally explains what happened, i was negging some mutants on the river, i built my home at the bottom of those eastern cliffs... i only just realized the two i lost sight of rerouted themselves in that path way you described because the same creatures turned up at my house that night.

Ive build a bridge where they usually cant get through at that last part of the video (easier to transport logs in my opinion) and they use that to cross instead of doing that long arch around so keep that in mind if you wanna build at that part

I just build in the middle of the lake with foundations lol, in one map I built a stone wall in their running path and a few of them would just look towards my lake building and start teabagging lol, as if they're saying "You win this time human"

The place where I built my base. They have patrol routes right near me without me knowing but sometimes they are stupid and just walk by. Sometimes they walk right through my base. But I only get attacked once a day and I just across the river wait 5 mins and they are gone.

Built a temp base near the beach where there are huts. When I'm attacked I just go to the beach because they have to go round the cliff to get to me. And since mutants tend to return to their original spawn location, I use this as a strategy to kill them without getting harmed

Right where you put your light bulb at is where I always build . Even on hard survival it’s the perfect spot . Deer spawn, water, fish spawn, no cannibles ever patrol up there. I can go days with out seeing a cannible. It was actually pretty annoying when I want attacks . Had to build a trail of bonfires to bring them to me

tl;dw the AI always follows you in addition to regular patrol routes, you want to keep moving and cross water/climb cliffs whenever possible to make sure they always have to take a really long path to get to you

This explains it... Tried the game out with a friend, we spent 5 days trying to do stuff but we were constantly under siege by cannibals. We spent the days gathering resources, and by evening a bunch of cannibals came to wreck our shit. Every. Single. Day.
