More than 300 Gurkha Recruits have passed out at the Infantry Training Centre in Catterick.
After nine months of training, they're now fully fledged riflemen of the British Army.

99% is not surprising considering how hard and competitive the selection procedure in Nepal is. Only the very best make it to Catterick.

My platoon commander in Catterick was a gurka and what a leader of men that man was! forever in debt to the people of Nepal taught me lessons in life ill take to the grave with honour! Keep up the good work gents love and respect always!✌❤

They didn't used to be, when we first went out to Nepal they used to seek into our camps and steal the laces from your boots (marked for death) get you the next night

I‘ve worked with the Gurkhas. Beautiful human beings. All I will say is this . Beware a small man with a big grin and a large Kukri . When they fight they fight ready to die with honour. Having said that . It’s not wise to drink or gamble with Johnny Gurkha . You will lose . X

Was in Singapore 68/70 the troop l was in we were the Engineer support troop to them GREAT TO WORK WITH AND GREAT MEN.

My father was a police officer for 30yrs. He told me that, the Gurkha's are the toughest guys in the field. You want them on your side, if war broke out. Great job guys

I thought ethnic Nepalese mostly look more like South Asians like the Indians or Bangladeshis. But a lot of them look more like East Asians.

Nepal doesn't have single race. About 38% of Nepalese look like Arabic(who are called khas-arya), 27% looks like east asian(who are called mongolian),25% looks like Indian(who are called madeshi) and 10% are mixed(newar and tharu tribe) But in foreign army almost 80% of mongolian Nepalese join cause they were sent by the rulers of nepal cause rulers were khas arya and they didn't want their race to die for other countries. That why it became a tradition of Mongolians Nepalese to join foreign army. They also join indian army,Singapore police and burnei reserve force.

Give the Gurkha citizenship and full benefits when they enlisted in the army Don't treat them as second class citizens they are the back bone of the British army without the Gurkha the army will be a decoration God bless the Gurkha
