We uploaded this video last night, but there was some damage to the file and the last minute was missing. It was understandably very important to Miah so I made the choice to take it down and reupload it. If you’ve ever experienced a great loss before, especially of a life that ended early, you understand the great desire to honor that life. This video, for Miah, was that. He didn’t feel like we could just carry on making content about the garden and chickens and farm without acknowledging this deep pain and loss of someone who helped make this farm possible for us. I was able to see the comments before taking the original video down and we cannot thank you all enough for your love and prayers. Some people asked, and I’m sure there will be others, why we would share something so personal. So I thought I would give some insight here for those of your who want to understand my own intention behind putting out a video like this. We do not share our lives on KZbin to be entertainers. We feel the call to live in a glass house in order to encourage, teach, share, and yes, in part, to entertain. But of all these things, entertaining is honestly not the highest priority. I understand our culture is accustomed to watching things on their screens which are not an accurate depiction of real life. Even reality TV is sculpted to present what brings the best ratings. This isn’t a reality TV show. This is our real, actual life and I feel an actual conviction to share it honestly. Yes, some things should be private and are. This 13 minute video barely touches on the actual ugliness of the last two weeks. And it really barely does justice to the bittersweet beauty of eternal hope. It is just a glimpse, an honest look, at one couple’s very human experience. If we implore people to only show the parts of their lives that are beautiful and neat, we are contributing to the brokenness of our society. Relationships, Faith and Life in general ALL experience times of hills and valleys. I could gloss my channel over and omit everything that might evoke sadness in the viewer, but to me, that would be dishonest. My earnest hope in making the very tender parts of my heart public is that perhaps someone, somewhere, will be able to relate. And perhaps they will feel hopeful encouragement that they are not alone. The world has enough scripts and enough smiling faces which are covering up broken hearts. I am not interested in being one of them. Thank you all for watching and walking this journey with us. Thank you for loving us and for praying, and thank you for allowing us this place to put up our glass house. I have to believe that it is important.

This is such a beautiful video. I fell in love with you all an your channel because of the realness. Please never change that it is amazing to see such a beautiful life with the good and bad without filters. It is very inspiring. I'm just a small town girl who has to borrow my dads phone to watch but you have inspired my sister to want to start her own farm and I'm inspired too. I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our mom a little over a year ago an it's very difficult. With time it will get easier because you will find ways to honor her.

What a beautiful tribute to your loved one. She will continue to live on in your many memories you no doubt have living so close. I lost my 93 yr old mother in law who lived with us for years almost a year ago. We were very close. We did EVERYTHING together... cooking, quilting, shopping, etc. She would even help me clean out my worm bins and even helped me perform a post-mortem exam on a chicken once. I miss her terribly and she is everywhere I am and everywhere I go. I am getting up in age and look forward to reuniting with my loved ones one day. I pray the Lord comforts you in your time of grief. God bless.
