Watching from Arkansas USA. Looks fabulous. Can't wait to try. I wonder do you have a video or can you recommend one that discusses all the different soy sauces? Light, dark, sweet, thick, thin.... What? How do you use them what are they????? I'm a novice with these Asian dishes and I'm trying to learn.

The Laab salad is one of my favorites to get at a restaurant. I haven't made it at home though as my spouse is not a lover of spicy things. Would Korean gochugaru be an acceptable substitute for the Thai chili powder? I've found that pepper to be a good middle ground in our household.
@katherinechu45813 жыл бұрын
I would think so. And you can add some hot chilli flakes to your plate later

Well done as usual Marion Listen I hope you do not get offended if I ask a question In a cheeky Aussie way .like when I asked about the glutinous rice .earlier Sometimes food commentators don't realise that people watching don't necessarily know what that t ype of rice is best because my nearest asian green grocer is 60miles away In Newcastle I mean if you are shopping in Woolworth or Coles SOMETIMES YOU MIGHT if you Know WHAT your looking for find a good alternative But as you have so often said an Asian green grocer make sssssooooo much difference ( because ME cooks for myself and I Myself and I are the ones who suffer if me the cook stuffs UP LOL. ( yes I know I'm a Dag ) SO it's handy to get a handle on the right Veggies etc to do the job ( I am sort of Joking about this ) BUT CONSIDERING YOU HAVE HAD SO MUCH SUCCESS ( WELL I hope you have ) anyway maybe it might be another line of food stuffs for your Marions kitchen pantry.( Tongue in cheek ) you might have grounds for a line of stuff like Aunty Mazz sticky Rice or Aunty Mazz Chiness noodles I'd still like to get a copy of your book it looks awesome but the trouble I've got at this time is AT the moment we've got a huge hacker problem On East Coast Aussie what they're doing is sending bogus messages to your Phone saying a variety of Bull shit like ( your parcel will arrive tomorrow or we're the Tax dept and we have detected illegal activity ect ect on your phone IF YOUR SILLY ENOUGH TO RESPOND YOU OPEN UP YOUR PHONE TO ACCEPT FORMS OF SPY WARE. WHICH SITS ON YOUR PHONE UNTILL YOU DO ANY TYPE OF FINANCIAL BUSINESS LIKE PHINE BANKING THEN IT ATTACKS YOUR ACCOUNTS. So I just don't do any financial over the phone .it's not as simple as blocking the numbers we've tried that only to find the atack is coming from multiple numbers. It's a simple matter of just patiently deleting the phone numbers as the bull messages come up but it is a Tension raiser ( if you can read between the lines ) I'd like to call it something else but I like d being a gentleman Not vulgar if I can help it LOL So if it wasn't for infiltration of thieves I'd do a bit more business with you if you would be prepared to do a cash on delivery deal I'd love it cheers Msrion really look forward to what your going to cook next.even some of the recipes that are supposedly simple are turned into Cord en Mazz at your magical touch finally I hope your famIly are all good cheers from Cobber dog down under.

Does anybody here no why white pepper and not black pepper and why white vinegar and not malt vinegar?
@mikewhocheeseharry52923 жыл бұрын
White pepper is basically black pepper with its outer layer removed. Often times white pepper is used in clear soups or dish so it doesn’t change the color of the dish as black pepper would. I don’t know about the vinegar though.
@ricklee54313 жыл бұрын
@@mikewhocheeseharry5292 Thank you, you solved the "pepper mystery" for me. I suspect pretty much this applies to the vinegar too. 👍
@mikewhocheeseharry52923 жыл бұрын
@@ricklee5431 Yeah, vinegar I rarely use since I can’t stand the smell of it… so I’m not familiar with it. But I have a thing with peppercorns. Also, in case you might want to know, there are red peppercorns and green peppercorns, which all come from the same plant as the black pepper just different process in the drying or ripeness of the fruit. Yes, peppercorns are considered the berries of the plant and not seeds or grains. I didn’t know that for a long time. 🙂
