I think people can be so easy to dismiss her, even to the extent of cancellation. Especially milking on her past controversies and scandals, like we all never had any at any point in our lives and never had the chance to just change. People act like people can’t change. Then (hopefully genuinely and I sense and pray that it is) her truly pursing a relationship with God through Christ, people will use that to dog on her too, saying grift to the next grift, now it’s a spiritual grift, I can understand as that DOES happen, but doesn’t mean everyone, but yeah people are just so quick to that, when we’ve ALL fallen short in the glory of God. Was super drawn to her in her early career - her prime - and even now and I thank God for His work in her, He is faithful to complete it despite how imperfect we are, He’s perfect! This really brings back memories of me trying to understand goth culture growing up in the Midwest/south from the mid 80s to early 90s. I really understand Theo’s perspective and the whole seductive siren thing. I actually listened to NIN, Sick Puppy, Ministry, Concrete Blonde, Siouxie, Depeche Mode, and even went to see the Cure in concert. I just was into a lot of other things too so I would never consider myself Goth. Excellent interview!

When I was in high school in the 90’s the “goth” kids were usually the ones that got picked on when they were younger. I hung out with everyone including the goth kids and they had more posers than all the other groups.

Preps were kind of a protected group because they had the money to buy the drugs the goths, punks, and heads all sold.
