Many thanks, been searching for "teach me how to pole dance" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Menincoln Feyria Method - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate got cool success with it.

When I start to lift and spin, I notice I get closer to the pole instead of away even if I’m pulling hard. It’s hard to point toes backwards. 🥺

TYSM I NEEDED THIS SO BAD every time I go on the pole I always just spin once or twice and then fall down

i’ve always been confused if the pole spins itself or if you have to make it spin

what is the straight leg spin before you get into the fireman called?
@emmamurphy81654 жыл бұрын
my problem in this spin is that my legs start to go ahead of the rest of my body, i'm able to hold myself up and keep distance from the pole but this issue keeps happening. i wonder if you have tips for this? where is the strength lacking? core engagement? thanks for all your videos, you're great

Sounds like the circular forces are taking over. Do you pivot until the hips are completely facing the pole, before you go into the spin? This is a common reason. If yes, another issue could be arching in your back and not squuezing the glutes and abs enough.

I notice that if I kick into it more to lift my legs in a more horizontal fashion sometimes in my spin, my feet wave (feet swing up and down while I spin) and sometimes my feet stay controlled together. Does anyone know why? I want to make this spin look more horizontal before I lower my legs to finish.

That's the centrifugal forces that get stronger further away from the pole. Don't arch your back and keep your abs and glutes engaged. Can you hold the spin more vertical, with your belly away from the pole?

Friendly reminder that pole dancing can be a SPORT, and NOT the other way around...

What if you literally can't even do part 2 (shoulder pull and holds)? I've been practicing pole for over 1.5 years (going back to basics to perfect form), so "just keep practicing/training" would be really disheartening advice :(

Does the hold (00:35) for 3-5 seconds work for you?

@@ThePoleDancer Do you think this is because of wrong hand placement, pulling direction, and/or engaging the wrong muscles?
@ThePoleDancer4 жыл бұрын
@@rachelgreer8946 Hi Rachel, I'm sorry I forgot to respond to your previous comment. I can only guess about the reason, but I'd love to help you and check your technique. Could you please send me a video of your attempts (on the static pole) to miglena@thepoledancer.com? Also include what YOU think might be the reason. If it's a lack of strength, I do have an alternative exercise I can share with you.

@@ThePoleDancer Hi Miglena, I have the same problem. I can hold (I think) but I just slide (and I'm at the ground after 2-3 seconds). I tried to use dry hand, chalk powder, cleaning my pole with vinegar and water... I'm starting to get hopeless
