The 2017 Nissan R35 GTR is an evolution of the GTR which arrived here in 2009. It now features a 565-horsepower version of it's 3.8L twin-turbo V6, a more refined six-speed DCT gearbox, updated body work, and a refreshed interior, which make the GTR more usable every day. And of course, it's still blindingly fast and capable of extreme cornering speeds.

You won't get much for $100K if you're shopping for a new 911. You're talking about a stripped down base 911S with absolutely no options. Sweet spot is around $120K-$130K for a nicely equipped 911S. I'd pay the extra $40K-$50K more and get the GT3.

Thanks for offering your honest feedback on the GT-R. I have always loved this car from a distance. I had my first opportunity to drive on last summer on a track in Las Vegas. While I really enjoyed the experience, I can see what you mean about being emotionally disconnected from the car. Or, put the other way, not drawn in emotionally. The car is crazy fast and has great grip, but looking back I have yet to feel like "Man, I can't wait to drive the GT-R again." My memory of being on the track was more about the track experience, and less to do with the car itself. That's sad, because I think it's a beautiful car. That said, I came across a used one at good price and low mileage, I might be persuaded to give it a second look. Cheers!

A few things strike me about this video. First of all, call me crazy, but I like it when cars tramline. They feel alive and a bit unpredictable. Secondly, Matt's comment about how this car feels more analog compared to the competition that has advanced over the same time - I think that's crazy. I don't honestly scared for what people consider to be sports cars in the future - a raw driving feel seems to be disappearing quicker than I can imagine.

I've got a 2014 GTR stage 1. love the mechanical noise and the grip but I love my s90d too because it is quiet and the throttle ist instant. every car has it good things and anoying things :) many guys prefered the older r35 because of the stiffness and clunky noises but the new interior for example looks better. In europe the model s is a little bit annoying because of the size. parking garages or not built for them.

I was impressed until I found out how shitty the transmissions are and how Nissan handled warranty repairs of stock GTR's that they just considered "abused" which was really just normal use for a sports car. If I wanted an AWD car with exploding transmission I could save $80k and get a used Evo.

You buy a older one for around 60k then hand AMS Performance 60k and for 120k you can have a solid bulletproof 900HP GTR with a stage 2 shep trans that will hold the power all day long. The GTR is ment to he built not bought which is why the sales are so bad because people rather just buy the older used ones and build them.

To me the conundrum has always been and still is: how do you build a very civil 800 hp GTR that runs one pump gas and does not have a huge turbo lag and ridiculously clunky transmission. Mine has a little more power but I have a lot of lag, and they built transmission is a pain in the ass. If they're only was a way to reshuffle that equation, I would be willing to leave 100 hp on the table...

I was so disappointed when I drove this on the track. The driving position was bad; the engine note was nonexistent; it didn't feel very characterful at 5-7/10ths (only had 3 laps to get acquainted) etc. And with the massive price hike, lack of significant changes over the last decade (!!!!), and the Carrera's turbocharging, I have to ask why.

Most consumers, thank goodness, don't bother watching these anti-Japanese car reviews. Consumers know not to trust these biased reviewers and actually go to the dealership to test drive their options. Not being racist, but when you see a white guy reviewing cars, they will be discouraging when they review Japanese cars, and will be encouraging when they review American or European cars. Example...When a Japanese car is composed and quiet, they would say it's boring and not sporty. But when an American or European car is quiet and composed, they would say it's luxurious and comfortable, LOL. Now, when a Japanese car has a firm or tight suspension, they would say the ride is harsh, noisy, and intrusive. But when an American or European car is tuned to be more firm, they would say that it's fun to drive, sporty, and exhilarating, LOL. It's all about the adjectives, hahahahaha.

Very few sports cars are made with V8 :) Most of those are more muscle/pony cars or grand touring cars. I'm saying this because "sports car" classically defined is a lightweight two seater, so going off the classic definition something like the old Shelby Cobra is a sports car :D

HP = ( air + fuel ) consumption ... doesn't really matter displacement when you are going full throttle. Displacement comes into play when you are cruising and not getting into boost, and also the weight and aero of the vehicle plays a lot into fuel mileage (one of the major reasons Corvette is so good at mpg!)

What do the people at Nissan do everyday? Nissan doesnt make new cars anymore lol. Infiniti had to look to Mercedes to build them the QX30. The rest of the Infiniti brand are guinea pig test platforms (testing intouch system which sucks, testing drive by wire steering that sucks, testing twin turbo 3.0 motor which sucks and blows up) yet the whole infiniti line up still uses a slush box trans, no lsd, no manual trans option, still uses the seats from 2005...

i have a 2006 infiniti m45s, v8 sedan, The m series are comfy and luxuries af. check it out, not to many people know about the m, there super underrated.

Has anyone watched these with captions on? apparently the GTR has a 6 beans gear box and you can maintain high cornering speeds without eating excessively. i guess im sold on it.

OK Saleem, I got you..... 1) It takes absolutely NO SKILL or TALENT to drive this car. 2) It's a DAT-SUN in disguise. 3) It says "Nissan" on the back 4) Good luck on service. Datsun dealerships can't even fix a Sentra correctly. 5) Wayyyyy over priced for a piece of Jap Scrap with a gimmicky drivetrain. 6) Horrible styling, and the cheap "Altima" quality interior is a joke. Simon Coles Because it's WAY cheaper, looks nicer, more modern, better interior... There's plenty of reasons to choose an M4 over a GTR. I'd much rather have an M4, GTR is just too bland and boring for me.

The R35 never was a desirable car. It's way too big and heavy, it sounds and looks god-awful, the build quality isn't anything like a 120k car should be, it is unreliable, it is way too expensive and you might be able to pass nearly everything on the road, but not a gas station.

In 2009, for its original $80k price, it was very desirable. Just not so much any more because the competition has all caught up and surpassed it.

Nothing you just said is true. No one buys a gtr at 120k. You can get a 16-17 for 80-90k

The horsepower did increase, from 479 hp in 2007 to 545 hp in 2011 to 565 hp for the GT-R (not including the Nismo or the Spec V)
