Season 4 Episode 11 "Frozen"
When Dr. Cate Milton (Mira Sorvino), a psychiatrist trapped in the South Pole and the research station's only doctor, becomes ill in the middle of her assignment, she and House are thrust into a long-distance relationship of sorts. Unable to get Cate out or any additional medical supplies to the South Pole station, House and his team must resort to treating her via webcam. Meanwhile House sends Taub, Kutner and Thirteen to harass Cameron until she gets cable for his office and he attempts to discover the identity of Wilson's new girlfriend. This episode originally aired in North America, outside of its regular time slot, immediately following Fox's broadcast of the Super Bowl XLII post-game show.

I love the scene where House tells him that he's not gonna let him kill her. It may just be him playing a sincerity card, but the optimist in me believes that, when it comes down to the wire, House sets aside his cold demeanor because despite the fact that he is indeed a snarky asshat most of the time, he genuinely always has and always will care about saving lives.

@J Wil actually their are many scenes were house gets downright angry due to not being able to help a patient or his team screwing up and making the patient worst. He cares a lot about them. The difference is he's very indifferent to their feelings since he cares more about saving them than how they feel about him.

She dies from an embolism while on the trip to the hospital. He was a wreck for the rest of the episode. There was no puzzle, there was nothing unique or cool about it for him to obsess over. I'm bummed that they faded out as soon as they did. I remember this episode from seeing it years ago, and when I started watching this video, I was thinking "they better show the look at the end..." That really stuck with me.

2:25 I thought House was actually being sincere for a minute there. Until he said, "Well that was easy."

I have a feeling he was being sincere. He said "well that was easy" to make it look like he wasn't because he's afraid to show emotions. It happens in other places in the series aswell.

Oh, I felt so bad right there, when he looked at them holding each other. He seemed to be thinking how he'd like to have what they got, at the same time thinking what fools they are. But he can't have it because he's always so nasty. Yet all his negativity comes from his constant pain. He's just as normal as anybody . I saw all that in his face. Poor House .
