When you brought up Carlin, I laughed out loud. That was the bullet that killed that argument. All my favorite comics worked dirty: George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, Joan Rivers, Sam Kinison, Louis CK, Bill Burr. Like you said, funny is funny, and it doesn't matter if you're dirty or clean. Both ways can be successful.

I can't trust a comedian who never curses in their act. Especially if they're all righteous about how clean their act is. I always like the cold opens (I believe that is the right term) in Vic’s videos. I wonder if the comic in question was answering a question from the media? At times the media seems to be provoking or stirring up conflict rather than reporting facts. Although the parties being asked may also be using the media to garner more attention by provoking conflict.
