@@ACERASPIRE1 Experience has taught me otherwise. ECU replaced when it was actually a contaminated MAF. Gas tank taken out and fuel pump replaced for a vacuum leak. Solenoid replaced for a fuel tank pressure leak when it's actually a gas cap. These shops got to meet the bottom line. That's the whole reason most ASE certified literature will warn techs not to hand the vehicles back to customers without the monitors run as it's basically dishonest and gives the customer the impression that the vehicles are fixed when they aren't; It's either greed, incompetence or just not reading their shop guides.

I'm wondering if the dealer found it jumped timing and then immediately wrote "new engine" because they don't deal with internal repairs unless certain conditions apply (ie: oil consumption fixes, no piston to valve contact, etc.). I would check the physical timing of the engine, especially ince the cam sensors were pulled. It's probably electronic or electrical, but this way one can rule out a timing jump. We also need to see all the error codes.
@charlesmerriweather8012 жыл бұрын
I think that the dealership drain the oil, and seeing the bearings from that lifter rocker. And the metal from those rollers. You did not see them because if they change the oil. So I wonder if any of the material from those roller rocker or in bearings are in anything that is destined to destroy the engine later.

I bet it's an exhaust cam rocker that has packed up and fallen off the lobe/valve ...kj, I watched the next video before this one. If only life worked this way where someone can tell you exactly where the fault is. btw, would the coolant 'injection' into the engine have anything to do with the failed rocker arm? causing the engine to hydraulic excessively? Great content btw!
