I've been plant-based for 5 years... it's been a lonely road. But my daughter is just starting to transition over and this morning, to surprise me,she came over with two healthy servings of this for breakfast! Man I felt so spoiled. They were fantastic.

My 5-year-old niece needed to bake something with an adult for extra credit for school. She chose this recipe and we spent a fun afternoon making the chocolate oatmeal bars together. We served them for dessert after supper and the whole family loved them, especially the fudgey center! This recipe is definitely going into my "favorite desserts" file! Thanks for another winning recipe!

I’m in the process of making a batch in a 9x9 pan, but the first time I did it in my silicon muffin pans. They turned out great and were easy to fill. I baked them 20 minutes. This recipe tastes decadent without the guilt.
@followerofchrist40643 жыл бұрын
I made these and they are scrumptious! Rich, no doubt but what a treat when one is craving a ‘goodie!’ Seriously, the food I’ve been cooking from plants surpasses anything I ate in the past. Fills you up and satisfies until the next meal without munchie attacks in between. Seeing major changes in short time from aches in my body. I freeze these and cut a small piece off for a treat; I don’t feel deprived in the least! Thank you!!

Late to the dance here. You have so many fantastic recipes, Jill! Made these yesterday and I have two issues: 1. Why did I wait so long to make these? 2. How can I refrain from eating all of these at once? My goodness, this goes to the top of the list of dessert recipes to make regularly. Jill- you are a rock star!

Neither me nor my grocery store had enough dates for the chocolate layer. Used cooked red beans instead for the body and some honey (I know, I know, I'm not 100% PB yet) for the sweetness. Turned out pretty good too! I will definitely work on this recipe more but I was very suprised how good those cocoed beans tasted :) Thank you for your recipe Jill!

Once my oatmeal bars went into the oven I added 3/4 water to my Nutribullet and turned the remaining chocolate-cashew mixture into a delicious treat to drink. I love these.

That is funny, when I was cleaning my blender I filled it up it with water, I immediately thought to myself oh darn I should have only added a little bit of water to make a delicious chocolate milk 🤦🏽♀️ Next time 😊

Been seeing this recipe pop up quite a bit lately, so watched the video. Not a huge sweets person but needed that chocolate fix so made them today. The filling tasted wonderful ( of coarse I had to taste... Quality control and all that. 😁) In the oven currently as I write this so really looking forward to trying them. 🙂😋

Thanks for sharing. This is definitely a TREAT as dates are expensive in my area. I would spend nearly $9 on just the dates alone. 😮 Love that these are gluten free and packed with nutrition.

Oh shweppes. Tired from the scrambled tofu this morning, but now I watch you taste this and I'm like, 'Ok, it's only 3 pm... Can sneak this one in'. 😋😋😋 Thanks!! Edit: Ok, made em. Screwed it up half way (don't ask) but started from scratch and they turned out okay. Quite nice. Rich. I could only have one at a time. It was strange using a huge baking pan and only use 1/2 of the space in the middle of it, but it seems to have worked out okay. My bottom layer was quite thin towards the edges so perhaps next time I should just use more mixture in a smaller space (and make less brownies) rather than try to copy the recipe and cover a wider surface area with the mixture. It also resulted in not quite being able to cover the top layer, although I tried to stretch it out and it mostly covered it. Used almonds for the bottom and cashews for the choc. The dates didn't seem to blend easily in the Nutribullet, perhaps it is better to buy a food processor. Still have no bloody idea what I'm doing around the kitchen, but it was an experience. 🙃 Thank you!

Wow nice you have a rubber scraper. I though I would send you one because you always leave stuff in your bowls. Also maybe if you soaked your dates in the plant based milk they might blend easier

I finally made these and they are delicious!!! My super picky husband said they were good and sweet. My base and top layer was a lot darker, maybe it was the dates. Next time I’m going to double the recipe, might be easier on my Vitamix. Thank you for the recipe 😁

I made this!! It's not very sweet but surprisingly satisfying. I guess that's the difference between just grabbing some processed sweet treat, and making one out of wholesome real whole foods! Very happy with this recipe, as I've made many other "healthy" desserts before that miss the mark in terms of satisfaction, unlike this one.

Please take this as a compliment, when I say that they don’t taste at all ‘worthy’.
