Good mornin New Ham Shire ..... Nora is quite the character already. It was hilarious to see her jumping up on Willow's feed bin and preventing Willow from lifting up the flap ~8^) Thanks for the laugh. I agree AL ... it's tough to tear down something you put so much effort into. Can you put that plastic over the compost, or will that deprive them of air (and water)? Nice to see Rusty and the gals in their new digs ... bet they will be very happy to get on pasture! How much longer until we may see some Copper Maran chicklets from the incubator? You're gonna be knee deep in chickens pretty soon. Hope this latest cold snap moves out of the northeast ... it's slowing down my seed germination, although my tomatoes are starting to push ... woohoo! Have a nice Thursday AL, Gina & Olivia .... your goats are like herding cats! Take care.

Your meatloaf looks good! My friend’s (and now mine) recipe uses equal parts ground beef, ground pork, and bulk sausage. She mixes them, adds bread crumbs, an egg or two, a small can of tomato sauce, and a whole (small) box of baby Bella mushrooms, ground in the food processor......mix all that up with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder and form your loaf. Paint the top with ketchup, cover the whole thing with strips of bacon and put several sprigs if fresh thyme on top before baking. She baked hers in a cake pan, but I put mine to bake on a grid-shaped cookie rack on or in a pan, so the grease drips away and your meatloaf doesn’t sit in it.. this makes a big meatloaf, so plenty of leftovers... My friend passed away from ALS nearly 2 years ago, and I think of her often; certainly when I’m making her meatloaf...

Maybe split the rubber on the grain feeder. That way if the baby is standing on one side, Willow can still open the other side. If you want compost faster, You have to turn the pile in order for it to heat up, and keep it more active, they need to be oxiginated. They also need some moisture, its fine if you don't but it will take a lot longer for it to compost down. You could split that back yard area and then Willow and the baby could go out anytime. I would also be handy if you had to keep goats separated. That baby is just so adorable, I just love watching her buck and frolic.

Nora Maple works! I had such a laugh and smile on my face watching her bounce all over! I replayed that several times. I loves me a good meatloaf. I normally make mine into a bread loaf shape so if fits on sandwich bread nicely. I would take all that great compost from under Rusty's coop either to the new greenhouse or to the raised beds. You've got compost seeds galore with those hay bales. Blessings to all.

The temp difference in the compost piles is probably due to the older pile having rotted more of the wood and hay, releasing a lot of the energy. The newest pile having fresher wood chips and straw generates more heat since those are actively rotting. I had a local tree trimmer bring me a huge pile of mulch from some red maples he trimmed last spring. On cool mornings you could see the steam rise from it, but as it aged and rotted the steam was less noticeable. It has aged a year now and is great mulch. I have it filling the bottom of my raised beds for aeration and to generate some warmth for the roots of the plants.

Well Norah the Explorer...what did you think of the big outdoors ??? I love the way she hops around, twisting & turning. She is like a little bucking bronco. I didn't think Willow could open the door...she never did that in the other stall. Maybe she is saying "enough of this lock down, we want to run and romp". hahaha. Mighty fine dinner Gina. Have a Blessed day.

That New Country Organics goat feed looks exactly like their chicken feed! My chickens ate only a few of the grains and left behind most of the rest, including the green pellets and peas. So I switched to a different organic crumble that they eat (mostly).

Here in Northern Ohio we are getting they think up to 2 and a half inches of snow tomorrow. lol I love snow so it is no mind to me. Will probably play in it. Just keeping my little greenhouse warmish is a good thing these days. Will be about 50 degrees on Saturday so will enjoy it all while it lasts. lol

I guess I’ve been watching you for four years. I can remember you making that door handle on the green house.

My son and I started watching your channel after seeing the portable coop build. We now have 5 portable coops fashioned after yours. Our first coop also has a tree branch for a door handle. Keep on sharing. You are making a difference in so many people's lives and homesteads.
