It's also generational. Millenials on contain so many who never heard no and don't know how to respond to it other than squash it or destroy the speaker whilst having a remarkable ability to claim victimhood when they do it. HW is full of far left millenials with the more moderate lacking the stones to stand up to them making them worse as they traded morals for jobs. 100% good/evil can't be portrayed as they won't even admit the truth to themselves, never mind us.

Orcs could never be "redeemed". They were the embodiment of evilness. A tortured and decayed form of life. One could argue that first Morgoth and later Sauron had enslaved their minds, and that they were like minions of a hive minded horde, but even after Sauron lost his dominion over Orcs, they went mad and some even killed themselves.
@capriciaelcid4743Ай бұрын
Nowhere it's said that Orcs can't be redeemed. It's just one of the mysteries that only Eru knows. Because we don't know for sure the origins of Orcs. If they are Elves or Humans corrupted descendants, they are still Children of Eru and they could be redeem in theory. But they don't want that, they don't believe in anything, normalement any gods, they hate everything. Maybe they are in the same situation than the Numenorean armada and was concealed in the Caves of Forgotten. They must waiting their final judgement.

How could the orcs be able to save themself in this state of permanent despair and without guidance? Only Eru knows what they will become in the end.
@TETASARAIVACSАй бұрын
And none of our heroes never had any drop of pity or consideration for any orc enemy. After battles, every orc was executed, chopped to pieces, burned. It was different with the human enemies, to whom they always gave a chance to surrender (when they showed signs of surrender, of course), like we saw after the Battle of Helm’s Deep and after the assault on the Black Gate. Not one orc was never spared. There was a moral line Tolkien seemed to respect, and orcs were beyond that line. I still see orcs as unredeemable.

Not according to Tolkiens own writing….. I’m all for the hate of rings of power, and orcs crying on the battlefield? Yeah no…. That’s not in orc DNA to mourn brethren. But they DO have emotions and can even be redeemed and be “good” although it’s not their nature. You should really read the notes and letters and compiled Christopher Tolkien works to learn more about orcs….. because it fits exactly what Tolkien wrote about. Orc mothers, children, orc tribes, orcs being redeemed….. they are NOT a faceless horde and Tolkien never intended them to be, what they ARE is the slave army of evil….. and even evil itself has redeeming qualities and chance to change for good. Orcs absolutely have emotions, the 2 most common is violent rage and FEAR.

Orcs don’t f$ck. Tolkien did not add any kind of sensual/ sexual element outside of saying people had children. The reason for this was that he knew people would solely focus on that aspect much like GOT and HOD. So no, there is no narrative that says orcs “f$ck”. That would be too vulgar for Tolkien.

He would never write that. But then he never wrote that elves fuck. Yet they do. Point being, that they were "bred". Frequent references to Sauron "breeding an army" or them "multiplying". Unless orcs paired up somehow and created life in some other way, they certainly did fuck. But I think the alternative is much weirder.
@305areacode4Ай бұрын
@@JackChurchill101 It’s fiction so it could be as simple as having the normal races have kids and then “corrupt” them. Minecraft may be a sandbox video game but still is good example of a fantasy universe with clear monsters and that which are a distinction from the good natured creatures and animals. The hostile mobs that spawn at nighttime that include Zombies, Skeletons, Creepers, Spiders, Witches, Phantoms, etc are clearly bad as they attack any players in sight. No reason beyond just being monsters. Orcs and other Tolkien monsters should be the same way.

Patton was one of the first stand-ups I saw in person about 15 years ago. I knew the people of the theater in question in PA and was backstage prior to his start. This wasn't Phila, but a small town about 30min away. I kept my distance since I really wasn't supposed to be there but was helping the techs as a favor. Dude couldn't have been more of a douche to everyone that worked there. The personality switch the moment he was 'on' really blew my mind. It shouldn't have, but I guess the sheer chasm between the two threw me for a loop. I have no doubt about any of the stories said about him and I doubt anyone that knows him would be shocked if it was revealed he had a hand in his late wife's spiral.

Thank you for this. I have never liked nor ever “got” Patented AssWall. I alway thought he was a no-talent hack. He always reminded me of like the nerd-poser version of Bill Maher. When he showed up on one of my favorite TV shows of all time, JUSTIFIED as Constable Bob, I thought “who did he have to blow to be able to get onto this show where he doesn’t belong?!?” I tried to like him, but I never could. Lots of JUSTIFIED fans do, but for me he marred the show, the same way that Arsenio Hall marred that for one season great, Sammo Hung tv cop series, MARTIAL LAW. And I felt doubly that way, when after I gave a lot of money to the Kickstarter campaign to bring back MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000, and that first Netflix season featured that guy with his fake nerd-cred! Right there I knew it was not going to live up to the original 10 seasons. But because I had invested hundreds of dollars into it and I loved the original and Joel, I tried to like it. I really did. But it always made me cringe and not laugh, and the sketch bits with the new mads were worst of all, and a lot because of him. And caring what he thinks about the WRONGS OF POWER?!? There is no way I could care less. Unless maybe it was Mark Hamill’s opinion. Or John Campea’s. But even then, not sure I’d care less. Maybe tied.
