So I guess Jeff left in the middle of an American Yardbirds tour to go back to his girlfriend in California so they went on without him, that one was on him and as he said had it not been for Rod Stewart Jeff may not have become who he is today, but thankfully it all worked out.

And to think, Beck , Page and Keith Moon almost formed a band before the days of Zeppelin. They couldn't find a singer. They split and a short time later Zeppelin was formed.
