Maybe the boat anker got stuck on an undersea communication cable. Maybe the captain didn't notice it for the first 2 hours and that's why is was listing.

Are the survivors being treated as POW’s? They are Russian military after all. And that’s the kindest description of their role.

Also worth mentioning the 2 squares under blue tarps behind the cranes. I have read those are heavy hatches meant to go on their new nuclear ice breaker and this is going to cause some delay for sure. And we don’t know the rest of the cargo it was carrying. Is it an accident, perhaps but that would be really unlucky.

The situation in Ukraine is completely and utterly detached from what's going on with Russian ships in the Med or anywhere else. The Russo-Ukrainian conflict is a landwar. There is no maritime component of any importance. However, by the pace and direction this conflict is going, Ukraine might see itself without access to its Black Sea ports in the near future. And that would be the end of whatever is left of that country. The info on the sinking of a rusty Russian ship somewhere is a little tidbit that has no relevance to anything. Turning this tidbit into a major event smacks of the distorted Angloamerican view that sees anything connected to maritime operations as the only strategic relevant component in the gobal fight for dominance. But the Russians are teaching those strategists a lesson. And the Chinese are soon to follow.

This event could be very symbolic. Ursa Major usually refers to a very large constellation in the night sky which is also called 'the Great Bear'. And, of course, Russia is often referred to as the Great Bear. Now, we are literally seeing the disintegration of Russia before our very eyes! So the sinking of this ship is very prophetic.

you're crazy making a big deal out of this. Russia can't maintain its naval ships any better than it can it aviation industry. The whole country is falling apart and you are making this into it might be something more.. No it's probably maintenance negligence. explosion in engine room? put the vodka down..

The US should make about 500k of these things for the war in china. Also the US should be making 5 million of the drones that Ukraine is using to attack tanks, apc's ect. The US should make a drone boat based on the PT boats of WWII. Not as large and more capable surely. Super high tech drones like the Reaper are ok but we need smaller drones that don't cost so much and can be used by soldiers directly on the battlefield.
