I toured the USS Hornet down in the bay area, and the thing that really surprised me was being "inside" the ship, it's really confusing. There's ladders and doors everywhere and everything looks the same. I imagine it takes a while to get your bearings. Also how loud is it when flight ops are going? Can you sleep during that? Anyway another great video thank you for sharing!

Hi, i have some questions about rank and orders. You are a Lt or Cpt but you have to follow the lower NCO's on the deck to park the plane and you cant refuse? I assume they have their orders from CO's above them and you or equal to you? If you arrive at a base gate and the Cpl says you cant pass, MUST he do what you demand and open or can he refuse as he has orders from higher commissioned officers? also if you were a Maj and he had orders from a Cpt to let no one pass, can you CM him for refuse your order as you outrank his CO? Last question- If a diff branch say a Maj and you are a Cpt demands you do what he says? Does he have authority as you are navy and hes army? or only in a war? I'm a pilot in GA and i dont think i would be frightened landing on a carrier as i guess you do thousands almost blindfolded in a Sim and its very normal if the bow isnt moving but what scares me is those 3 little tyres on the deck hitting a greasy patch and the fighter sliding with some crosswind and you stuck in it!! right near the edge and all that, your brakes fail or steering after so many hard thumping landings. haha

Morning from the UK Pail. Do you have Low Fly Area's (LFA's) in Naval Aviation as we do in our country? I only ask this as you have flown into Western Colorado and I noticed the Rocky's very close that would be ideal(?) for (LFA's). Not sure which airport you flew into as that seemed quiet for Denver or Colorado Srings. Your US 'Air Force' counter parts use several (LFA's) in the UK for the F15E Strike Eagles (just love em) and the F35 Lightening II's out of USAF Lakenheath. Cheers.

Your voice is so calming and soothing. You should do a few meditation videos. Talk me through a walk on the beach and floating in the water and I'll be asleep in no time! It's so strange that a fighter jet has something as mundane as a parking brake and sideview mirrors. It makes sense, but struck me funny.

I've been watching the carrier launch and landings on KZbin for a couple of months now and find them mesmerising! Everyone works so well to ensure everything goes smoothly. This video was fantastic seeing the launch from the pilot's point of view. Terrific narration. Thanks Growler Jams. Going to watch the landing video now.😊🇦🇺

Ive been stupified drooling over the Blue Angels every year when they come to my city since I was a child. Nothing has changed, I run to the window or outside for every pass, breaking my neck to see them until out of site...every day the whole week they fly. You are definitely providing the closest thing I will ever get/feel/see to being in the cockpit, and understanding the job. 👊

Is the connection facilitated by magnets? Does fuel tranfer automatically upon connection or does someone on the tanker start/stop the flow? Last but not least, can I come with you! ... just once...pretty please!!! 👊
@GrowlerJams22 сағат бұрын
The connection is made by force. The pieces “snap” together with around 40 pounds of pressure. They stay attached until pulled apart. The boom operator turns on and off the glow of fuel. Cheers!
