I tried doing this my first week of doing yoga. I remember being so out of breath and 5 minutes in felt like a lifetime and I stopped and felt so bad about myself. Just did this after doing yoga almost everyday for 3 weeks and I could not believe it was done when I finished! Yoga is really really helping me in so many different aspects: practicing patience and transcendence in the moment, learning about myself and my family, pushing myself, even in weight lifting and resistance training. It's all changed thanks to Kassandra! Yoga felt frightening before starting, now it feels like an old friend. In love with yoga 😍😍😍

I love what you wrote.. so many of my yogis (myself included) come to yoga for all those extras (helping with anxiety, practicing patience, dealing with our stresses from a balanced perspective, self care, self inquiry, knowing ourselves better). Its not about the poses, or being "good" at yoga... it teaches us how to get better at life! Namaste, keep enjoying the practice for decades to come! I discovered it in my 50s and am sharing it with so much love right now. And always learning. XO

This was beautifully written. What I have been feeling about myself is that I need to find a good balance in everything that I do, when to be silent, when to react, when to wait, when to speak, when to let go, and when to hold on, and just general graceful movements in regular activities. Basically the balance of the mind. And I thought the route could be through the balance of the body. With that aim I came here and this was so good. I do yoga a bit. Backward bending, forward bending is fine but balancing the body was tough. Too wobbly. So I needed this. Yet to start practicing it. I will.

I read a few comments before starting and wouldn't you know without even trying I had to pause at exactly 5 minutes too haha. She moves a lot faster than a lot of other yoga videos I was trying over the last couple weeks, which is sometimes good (like when I'm about to fall down) but also means I need a few more breaks than usual, at least right now til I get used to this.

As a taller person (6'4") i was looking for a routine to help sustain my posture exercises and help day to day motions be less straining and more fluid. My Stability, balance, and strength has all improved within 4 days. I do this every morning, excellent, bravo, a well choreographed routine, thank you! On a constructive not: more time on each pose. A couple more breath lengths on each pose helped my focus and let my body be more precise in knowing what to do, and how to maintain it confidently.

Love this sequence Kassandra - I do it every morning. Exactly the right pace and enough explanation to know I am doing the poses right - you say things just at the right time - it is as if you are in the room with me e.g. keep your hip down...., ....it is OK to wobble a bit! I am 67 and my balance really needed addressing - this is helping so much thank you

What balancing exercises do you practise throughout the day? I just can't get balance! I would love some tips!
@tracyheath60763 жыл бұрын
@@schleichbyme2258 I am an artistic and figure skater. (I just started about a year ago and wow I could not believe how unbalanced I was even though I was in pretty good shape) but this sport demands incredible balance that uses the entire core.. My lower abs and back indeed were not as strong as I thought they were. The first thing is to do some warm up exercises in the morning to engage your abs (lower especially) Nothing hard just get that lower ab awake. (no more than 3-5 minutes) and stretch your whole body before trying to do this kind of balance program. (this video in my opinion is a bit advanced I think) . Tight muscles make it tough to balance so every morning stretch it all out. Also I found that doing twisting movements while standing and keeping the abs still are incredible for helping with balance because you have to make those abs help your lower torso stay still. Posture is imperative. Stand up and pull shoulder blades down and squeeze your muscles between your shoulder blades and dont let your bottoms rips pop. This is the key to balance. After you have warmed up try standing next a dresser or something you can hold on to. Do some drills that will have you standing on one foot (dont try to do standing balancing exercises on thick carpet) the exercises that help me are many ballet movements and simple lifting one leg and point the toe , hold and slowly after a count of say 10 lower down. Don't rush to put food down. Do different maneuvers with eat leg in this manner. A simple yet affective exercises is when I stand at the sink and wash dishes, I do not lean on the counter, (that is a bad habit) I make myself use my abs to stand straight and sometimes will hold my leg like the tree pose in Yoga.. There are many fun things you can do like walking and the stopping and pick one foot off the ground and hold it, maybe stretch it out and point or do ankle circles. Stand and stretch one leg in back. Even if you can only do for a second, your on your way. Your teaching your body and brain how to balance. When you do your strength training like bicep curls, stand on one foot , even if you have to stand on tippy toe... get your form and lift your foot. Everything counts when you do something to work on balance. Calf raises are good, try to do that without holding on to anything. Hope that helps....

Hello Kassandra, I loved your videos right away and I've switched to them while practicing my Yoga. It's been 3 weeks now since I started. I'd like you, please, to do a short video about: -- Giving tips for beginners. Like, what focus should they start with (i.e. Flexibility or balance or ... ) and how they know they're doing everything right and should search for an advanced class video! Things like that. -- If you can, explain the aches one feels in his back and neck! And why that pain usually arises (for people having no medical conditions). -- Explain the type of Yogas you have videos for, like the Vin Yoga ... what is that?
