Mitch stared out of his window. He was starting to feel tired, tired in a way that burgers didn't fix. Then he saw Teague walking up to his door... "What do you know about witches?"... As they prepared to depart, Teague handed Ryan a letter. "You'll meet a fellow named Darryl. Give this to him."... Not wanting to know when they encountered him, Darryl just stuck the letter in his pocket... Mitch didn't believe they were witches, but he certainly believed Phoebe was hot... Griff gasped, and as his life gave out in Mitch's arms, he spoke his final words. "I'm... Griff"... Torn over whether to join the Charmed Ones to be with Phoebe, Mitch is confronted by Stephanie's ghost. "Mitch, you idiot, I'm the only one who can condescendingly talk down to you!" "You're right, ghost Steph!"... As the Charmed Ones prepared a spell to kill Darryl and Ryan, Mitch charged towards the gathering energy, shouting a battle cry so mighty, it was a spell on its own. "MMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY SSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVVVVVVVEEEEEE!" When the light faded and the dust settled, Mitch and Darryl were gone... Darryl stared at the newspaper, listing the date as years before, before he pulled out the letter from Teague, opening it to learn of his own fate... As Mitch hit the water, he felt exhausted. Beyond everything else he'd done, he had made his last save. He couldn't even lift his limbs. Then arms wrapped around him, and pulled him to the surface, as a young man swam him to shore. "You saved me. What's your name?" "I'm Mitch Buchanan." As Mitch stared at this young man who looked very different from him, he thought of all the saves he had made over the years. "Ryan got [voodoo] from one spot of blood and a tiny feather she found in it?" Honestly, and I can't believe I'm defending Nights over The X-Files, but that's actually better than TXF episode "Theef", wherein Mulder flies from Washington DC to California _overnight_ on some random hunch that an incident deemed suicide was actually voodoo. And of course turns out to be right. Like, the reason that episode gives for Mulder to think Voodoo is behind the incident is soil found in the guy's bed, but judging by Scully's reaction, that information apparently wasn't available on the FBI record of the incident, so its not like Mulder saw that and went over. He just read about some random hanging and flew across the entire country on a moment's notice to tell the grieving family magic was behind the man's death. At least in this show, the Buchbridebee guys are called over by a client and _then_ find their flimsy voodoo 'evidence'.

@@phonybeautrain6520 Mulder claims that dirt is a "common ingredient in hexcraft", and the implication seems to be throughout the episode that the culprit is using graveyard dirt to inflict a degenerative brain disease on the victims or something. It really is one of the flimsiest episodes of the X-Files in my opinion.
