Also fat is such a “bad” word in today’s world and has such a negative connotation-I think it’s so helpful to talk about it in a actual informational/analytical way focusing on its purpose as it helps to break that emotional association we have with “fat” (which I think it important to develop a positive self image and relationship with food :)

Becca, I'm newly pregnant and overweight 😬 I was browsing youtube for help on nutrition and portion control when I found your channel. So helpful! I feel nervous and overwhelm by the idea of gaining more weight during this pregnancy and risks of gestational diabetes. Thank you for your informative channel!

I like that you emphasize the importance of fat and eating intuitively. The lines of health can definitely get blurred in the fitspo world!

THANK YOU for posting this video!! I competed in two bodybuilding competitions and was completely immersed in the social media “fitspo”, like you said. I have now (almost 2 years later) recovered from my struggle with food and body image. I am now successfully intuitively eating. And loving it!!! This video reinforces I’m doing the right thing!

Can you do a video on how to recover from amenorrhea? I lost a lot of weight my freshman year in college from a number of factors and haven't had my period in a year. I'm looking to healthily get it back and I feel like you have a lot of knowledge and would be able to provide some healthy tips!
@viviannemoreno43837 жыл бұрын
I had amenorrhea from eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia and I didn't have it in a year as well (I was 19/20 by the time) and all I can tell you is eat fats,but healthy fats such as Omega rich foods and avocado or seeds (such as chía Seeds or flax), I am vegan so for me I looked up vegan fat resources but if you aren't,I advise you to eat eggs or fish specially fatty ones like salmon, olives are also a great way to eat fats. Keep your caffeine low, of you have an addiction to coffee try to drink green tea or matcha to get it because caffeine may affect it.Try to eat legumes but don't over do it same as with soy, try to keep it low because too much soy can make your thyroid go slower and it may stop your period, also try eating radishes to help with thyroid functions (I was born with hypothyroidism aka slow working thyroid so it was a little harder for me) and try to keep an eye on it. Keep your stress level the lowest, as well as the amount of exercise you do and basically, wait. Be patient cause it will come, the body is wise and it will let you have your period once it knows you can sustain a baby because you're nourished enough (whether you want babies or not), if it doesn't come is because you still have some nutrients low and the body won't throw them away through the period but it'll try to keep those nutrients for you. Relax and give it time. 😘

xokarakaraxo hi!! i just got my period back after 6 months after going through an ed, so i thought id be able to help. first, you should talk to your doctor. they should take some tests, record your measurements, and check if there was a different cause for your amenorrhea then loss of body fat. if there's none, then your doctor can be able to give you a healthy weight to reach, or maybe refer you to a nutritionist if you're really far below and have a history of mental illnesses. even when you do get your period back, you'll have to keep your eating on track, because your body will still be producing lower levels of progesterone for a while, and you'll experience way lighter bleeds than you remember. hope i helped!

Could you do a video talking about the recommended daily intake (RDI) of different things like sodium, sugar, ect. I think it would be beneficial to people. I personally am trying to improve my diet so that I can avoid health problems in the future since weight gain is not an issue for me. I feel like RDI is a good way to try and stay on a healthy path without being too strict.

Hi Becca! I love your videos. They are so helpful, positive, and informative. I'm so glad I've found a channel that is actually promoting true health and nutrition. It's scary how many uneducated people are promoting these insane low-fat diets even though they are completely lacking in any sort of nutritional education. Keep up the amazing work you are doing!

Is there a book or something that can better illustrate how to read your bodies signals and cravings so you can eat intuitively? I tried looking it up and I got a list of like steps to initiative eating which included things like “read your body’s signals/interpret your cravings...” but nothing on HOW to actually do that especially if you are trying to leave an unhealthy lifestyle behind.

Sheri Blais there’s a book “intuitive eating” I think it’s called. m.barnesandnoble.com/w/intuitive-eating-evelyn-tribole/1100623152

Please Dr. Becca, talk about Pcos :( I was anorexic and lost my period(Amenorrhea), but got it back with Birth Control Pills... once I stopped them, my periods were later and later each month, until it stopped completely and I was diagnosed with PCOS! then I took back the pills to get my period for three months, but now I stopped them, because I want to treat it with lifestyle changes, I'm in a healthy weight, but what are your recommendations about my situation? I'm struggling everyday about my period! Would be so helpful if you can give me some advices! Thanks for your content! I'm learning so much from you!
@ninarobyn7 жыл бұрын
Theresa 翠霞 Hi I don‘t know a lot about PCOS nor the situation you‘re in (moreover I heard about this condition only recently). However I think that I could actually help you bc I recently stumbled across a blogger/instagrammer called @leefromamerica who got diagnosed with PCOS. She openly talks about its effects on her body and how she lives with it. Maybe she can help you (as she also does almost weekly Q&As about it and has written several blog posts talking about it as well!) Sorry, this might not directly answer your question but I thought it might help!

Hey Becca, thank you so much for posting! How do I know what my perfect body weight is?
@MsShannon2136 жыл бұрын
When I think of “fat” I think or Dark chocolate, nuts, and avocados... if you asked me two years ago I’d name any junk food I could think of. My perspective of fat has changed over this short period of time. Now that I rarely eat “junk” food I view “ fatty” foods in a positive way and I view junk food simply as junk such as fries, processed food, etc.

This video has been an answer to prayer for me. I'm a Christian and in my faith journey has been intertwined with my fitness and health journey too. I love love love to workout, but I got to the point of being too thin and now I am trying to gain weight and it's been a battle for sure. But God has been with me every moment, and even today, as I don't feel well and I'm trying to rest, I cried watching this video and I feel so much peace about resting. So thank YOU Becca and thank you Lord for these truths. I hope you know that Jesus loves you so much. I blog about this recent shift in my mindset in my blog: www.hersweetestdelights.weebly.com Blessings!
