Sketchy American here... Jelly- made with fruit juice and pectin (and sugar)... Jam- made with whole fruit, sugar, pectin, but smoother than preserves.... Preserves- pieces of whole fruit, sugar, pectin. Very different- generally interchangeable. The "Dare" brand (Canadian) has an outstanding maple cream sandwich cookie. (the lemon ones and coconut ones are nice, too). Plantains are not bananas, but in the same family, having more starch than sugars. Most European descendent folks in the US haven't tried or even heard of plantains. There are dozens of peanut butters in the US... smooth, crunchy, honey roasted, mixed with jelly (not jam 😀) in the jar, etc... Jif, Skippy, Peter Pan, store brands, organic brands, etc. US chocolate is notoriously average at best- if you can get Dove, that's pretty good. Forget Hershey's or US Nestle's. Ghirardelli chocolate is also good... at least for here. Nothing like European and UK chocolate. Peanut butter dog treats are big here, even in the cheap dog biscuits. Pet stores have the artisanal versions.

In America, "jam" is jam and "jelly" is jelly. They're two different things. 🙂 Jam is more like a fruit preserve (crushed fruit puree), and jelly is a very pale imitation of jam.. mainly flavored sugar with a jello-like consistency. Some people have peanut butter and jelly, and some use jam, instead. I personally prefer jam to jelly. Glad you were sent some snacks from America, hon', and enjoyed them. 🙂 xx PS: I don't have a Trader Joe's near me, so I can't comment from personal experience. I would guess that the cookie butter cookies would be my favorite, as long as they're vegan (I don't know if they are). Anyway, you're looking vibrant, Elzani. Keep it up. 🙂♥️

I thought you'd all love them. They seem really sweet because of the center. Lol, they will be gone.. Maple leave cookies: very creamy and large. I heard lots of people like these I'm surprised they weren't as good. I guess it's a hit or miss. Hmmm.. artificial maple maybe. Plantains chips: at least you tried them even though you knew you wouldn't have liked them. Yea...eat what you enjoy more. JIF poppers: those seem tasty and crunchy. Why not try doing a video where you have a meal out on your own without the security of your Mum. You have done well but you are so dependent on her and you need to move on from this now. As an adult you need to take some more responsibility for yourself. You can eat away from home and for yourself. Why not show us what recovery brings you, show us things other than you just eating. Recovery is about living a freer and fuller life, move on from just obsessing about food
