Yeah. The founders never intended it but it is the reality we live in. The full time, professional military will never go away now. There’s far too much money to be made by selling them shit and starting wars. But every other country has a standing army too, it would be near suicidal as a country to stand our military down now. I got out of the army when I realized how bad the policy was. It only enriched the arms suppliers and government contractors. We were stopped from burning poppy fields in Afghanistan even though it was what funded the taliban. We were handcuffed in Iraq when it came to the stated purpose for us being there but we destroyed a lot of shit and passed out money like it was candy. We weren’t there to win a war, we were here to make shareholders rich. If our mission had been something like fighting cartels to end the drugs/human trafficking flowing into this country I would have stayed in the military. If we had been protecting the border I would have stayed in but I saw the truth of the matter.

I truly miss the quality of the weekly show. Hashtag never daily.
