I get extreme cravings sometimes and even after I’ve eaten a meal I desire sugar or something. I don’t understand how to distinguish between that and what is necessary. How can I better eat intuitively without over eating? Also what if I get “hungry” every night? How do I moderate that?

Started tearing up at the end there with you 😭 my struggle started when I was thirteen years old. I was always small and thin because of genetics. But this one day changed everything for me when my step father innocently said to me "you're getting a little belly on you". He didnt mean to hurt me, but from that moment on I became super obsessed with what I ate. I restricted myself and deprived myself. I suffered with bulimia for years and years and eventually anorexia. Now I'm struggling because I've gained a lot of weight this year. I went from not eating enough, to emotionally and mindlessly eating things that are extremely unhealthy for me every single day. I've forgotten who made me and that it doesnt matter if I'm thin, or larger, if I'm purple or have an extra arm. The way I look doesnt matter because He made me EXACTLY the way He intended. Thanks so much for this video Cambria ❤

I've watched your videos for years now and I am not entirely sure why I am just now leaving a comment! The Lord has used your videos as a constant encouragement throughout that process for years now and I hope that encourages you today! celebrating his power in you and what you do

I’ve also notice I’ve been underweight and my skin is super dry now. I usually had clear skin on my face but now I have bumps and scars. I also now have eczema and I have scars on my body. Recently I feel God wants me to start living healthy through scriptures and random things He has been showing me because I lost it for a while now, the spirit is willing and today I told my body, it must comply. I am keeping this vessel healthy for as long as possible so the(my) saviour through His Spirit can use it for His purpose. Please keep me in your prayers. Having a terrible headache and body pains from consuming too much sugar... I believe it's one of the ways God is speaking to me. I am ready to listen so help me Lord.

Wow I have never heard anyone describe healthy eating in this way. It made me cry happy tears. I have come such a long way in my health/eating journey and this video appeared at just the right time. I used to have a really bad eating disorder. I grew past the eating disorder by eating healthy but I took it to an extreme that would never work. I eat healthy and don’t deprive myself now usually but internally I’ve always been SO hard on myself whenever I eat one thing that’s a cheat snack or meal. I think it has a lot to do with my personal childhood trauma and the obsession to be prefect or “good enough” that stemmed from that. This video really made me feel the love from God as I shed tears that symbolized years of being far too hard myself. I feel that now is the moment I can finally let go of that and just let Gods love wash over me, knowing that I am so much more than my body and so much more than good enough. wow I’m crying as I’m writing this. Thank you so so much 🙏🏻🌸 truly you really helped me let go like I’ve wanted to for so long. So much love to you girl! Namaste 💕

This is one of my favorite videos from you, so informative and it's obvious that you worked a lot on it. Intuitive eating sounds like the way to go, but I have to take a certain medication for my mental health that gives me ravenous hunger, it's super hard to distinguish when it's real hunger and when it's the medication. I'm working on my mental health first, and when I'm stable enough to get off the medication, I'll watch this video again and try intuitive eating.

At this moment I am in lockdown. It started 27 March. At the beginning of the lockdown I used to exercise every two to three days. After that I began becoming lazy. I still did all my tasks, but I only did workouts once in one/two weeks (yeah, that is not good). Mentally and spiritually I began not feeling good, and a little physically. I still read Bible on a regular basis, but it felt like I grew away from God. After watching this video, I decided that I am going to do the Daniel fast (for 10 days). I have done it once in the past, and all though it was obviously difficult to manage everything that I eat, I felt SO good; mentally, spiritually and physically. My skin looked AMAZING (I am struggling with acne a little). I am gonna test myself by watching my diet, working out on a daily basis and looking if I mentally feel better. But most importantly I am gonna grow closer to God like never before. Thank you, Cambria for your platform, and that your let God use you to do great work.❤️

I have watched your videos for years and have struggle with binge eating for such a long time and your videos have helped me to realize my habits and work to overcome them. The wisdom you shared in this video about being fearfully and wonderfully made brought me to tears because it is just so true and is something I take for granted usually. A friend of mine showed me a song called Canvas and Clay by Pat Barrett and Ben Smith. This is a beautiful song that shares how we are God's creation. Great song, HIGHLY recommend if you have not heard it. Anyways, I appreciate you and the dedication and passion you have for helping people through your experiences. Praying for you guys through this season.

I clicked onto this video initially to merely watch your video, I have always been encouraged by your content. This video was different for me though, it really caused me to stop and reflect on the relationship I have with food and myself. I guess I just wanted to hop on here and say thank you, I have watched lots of key to a health life videos, but you spoke truth and really showed how simple it can be to start feeling like our best selfs as well as giving ourselves grace in between. thank you again, this is exactly what I needed to hear.

I started Weight Watchers a month ago and it is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I always did diets and they were very restrictive and disappointing. WW is not restrictive and I enjoy this new way of eating! I can eat anything I want in portions. No foods are off limits❤️
@CambriaJoy4 жыл бұрын
that's awesome Olivia!! so glad you found something that you love and that works for you!! you go girl!! 🥰❤️LOVE that it's the best thing that ever happened to you!! ❤️

Olivia Templeton No matter what Weight Watchers does to their program, it’s still a diet for these reasons: It reinforces restrictive eating because in order to be “successful”, points must still be counted. A reminder that restrictive eating usually leads to bingeing and other disordered eating behaviors. It’s not weight-neutral because in order to remain a member, you’re required to weigh in weekly. This continues to promote body dissatisfaction instead of body neutrality (the belief that all bodies are of value regardless of their weight), especially if there is a weight gain. It reinforces diet culture because it puts more value on numbers than on a person’s overall health which includes the emotional, physical, and spiritual components. It creates a dysfunctional relationship with movement (a.k.a. exercise) because it allows you to earn “points” for engaging in movement. Movement shouldn’t be used as a pawn to eat more or less! These list goes on. medium.com/@michellevinabaltsas/dont-be-another-weight-watchers-victim-961d4a44c80f WW does not help you to be in tune with your hunger and fullness cues. As Cambria stated, we are each unique and require different amounts of. A points system to tell you how much you should eat is not sustainable.

This is so important. I developed and eating disorder in highschool (there were a lot of factors) when I started comparing my 5'9 self to my friends who were like 5'5. I didn't understand that our bodies were so different. I thought I could look like them if I could just lose weight. But the truth is I am a big woman! People started getting concerned about my health when I was 180lbs! Weight is just a number and it doesn't matter.

Your first video on how to overcome binge eating is the first thing that brought me to your channel years ago. It didn’t miraculously cure my eating disorder, but it set me on the right path. I read Katherine Hansens book and my binging started slowly reducing and within a year, I was binging only about once a month. 😍 The last step, that helped me get of the last bits of my eating disorder, was going vegetarian - because it gave my eating habbits a different, “higher” purpose 😊

I'm so inspired. God DID lead me to this video. Today I had made the decsion to clean out my temple that He has given me. I was a bit stressed at the thought of running out and buying tons of fruit and veggies, as a single person, and having it all deterioate in my fridge over the week. This took a weight off my shoulders (no pun lol) due to the simplicity of just listening to my body. I involuntarily fasted today because I listend to my body. I had my first meal at 1pm because I wasn't hungry. I made a blueberry, orange smoothy with pomegranate powder and a bit of raw honey. It was so good! I'm pretty full, so I will make some eggs and have a detox tea after this. I cried when you cried because I knew that God sent me this video so that I could have freedom in my choices, eating window, and wether I ate raw, cooked, frozen or otherwise. I have choices that don't restrain me so much that it feels impossible. I did weight myself today (232! - that is a 52lb. gain in a year!)....but, that is just a number. God loves me no matter what that number is. I will weigh in weekly for a little while to see my progress. I'd love to come back with a few weekly updates to prove that God has blessed this channel and this video so that all will see He is Lord. I will benefit ... Heb 10:35-36 So do not throw away your confidence [In God]; It will be RICHLY REWARDED. You need to PERSERVERE so that when you have done the will of God [Which I believe is to treat out temples the way He intended, as a living sacrafice to His greater good], you will receive what He promised! Psalm 145:15-16 The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and you give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

This was a really comprehensive video!! I appreciate that you highlighted your faith without shoving it down everyone's throats, as an athiest viewer I really appreciate your perspective. Something I always worry about w intuitive eating tho is that its hard to tell sometimes what my body wants/needs versus what I am personally craving (eg - my body needs sugars like in fruit, but *I* want sugars like in lucky charms). Any advice for mitigating that?

Hi Cambria, I was so excited for this video since this was one of the questions I asked u! Which u replied & it filled my heart with Joy! I just wanted to thank you because I suffered with binge eating disorder as well. I tried what seemed to be EVERYTHING! I even went to counceling but my councelor mentioned that it was a topic they had not been informed in. I tried my best to follow thru but still nothing worked. It was until I saw your videos, bought the audio book that you recommended that truly helped me to get out! So I always truly thank God for your life. Im so excited to continue to grow and learn from you. You are my virtual supporter whenever I need motivation, whether its physical or emotional or spiritual! Ps.Im excited to eat more veggies just because of how excited u are about them lol. Love you and thank you for everything that you do. God bless you!

My guilty pleasure is McDonald’s… but fast food in general is what I have a problem with. I’m super skinny and fit that’s why I don’t think or worry about food too much, but I started to feel icky sometimes because of that type of food. I’m 27 years old now so maybe that’s why. My metabolism started to slow down a bit. I’ve read somewhere that every 5 years after we turned 25 our metabolism slows down to 10%, or something like that. I like fruit a lot but vegetables are really not foods I enjoy. I need to get better at cooking as well, because I work too much and then I’m lazy to make something healthy at home. So time is another factor when it comes to food. Great video, awesome tips. Thank you! :)
