Oh dear, looks like you took one on the nose Mr. Ed...ouch! I've never gotten to the point that I will break in to a hive without a suit on. Call me a wimp, but I'm just NOT interested in getting stung if I can help it. Course it helps a lot that it's not as hot and humid as Louisiana here in Oregon! Great job guys as always.

I have never found AFB or EFB in any removal I have ever done. Lots of beetles, ants, and roaches, but that's all. Thanks for watching. God's peace Rachel. Mr. Ed

Thank you Melanie, ladders are VERY dangerous to work from and I avoid the use of one as often as possible. Thank you for your concern and for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed

In this video I noticed that you didn’t vacuum the bee’s after reminding the comb’s. 😂

I did not show the entire removal, but rest assured, I vacuumed all the bees during the removal, from the comb and the walls. Thanks for watching. God's peace Alfred. Mr. Ed

Nice job yet again. Good explanation as to why you wanted to cut from left to right side. Just a quick question, The cells have a slight angle downwards and that is important for honey storage, does it make a difference for brood comb to have the correct orientation or is that purely for nectar. Meaning will the bees use the comb for brood if it is assembled with the wrong orientation?
@JeffHorchoff
@JeffHorchoff Жыл бұрын
Yes it is important for both brood and honey which is why I alway have the comb oriented even when we place it in the ice chests. Thanks for watching. God's peace Kennith. Mr. Ed

Hi Jeff Australia calling! Great job! But we all are facing varroa here in Australia, its here in a small area and they are trying to eradicate it. Question. Are there varroa in these hives you remove? We are all told all the feral hives die quickly from VM, whats the situation there with these unmanaged hives. Please answer! God bless Barry Palmwoods Honey
@JeffHorchoff
@JeffHorchoff Жыл бұрын
Varroa will unfortunately be with us till bees are no more. Hopefully, Australia can slow the tide or possibly contain it since it is newly arrived there. I do not know if the removals I do contain the mites, but I alway assume they do. However, since I do not treat, I assume the bees will handle the situation. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace. Mr. Ed
